Been good about tracking so far today and macros looked better yesterday.
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
Great start with OPT, Michelle. It is a wonderful program. Getting the nutrition down has been more of a struggle for me than the workouts (which I think challenge the hell out of my core). You accomplished so much with NROL4W that this should be a breeze for you.
Today was a rest day from exercise, but did some errands with BF so managed to get some NEAT in. Had aan eggbeater omlette without cheese and only a couple of homefries for breakfast then sushi for dinner with edamame and salad with ginger dressing yum yum yum Also had a couple of mai tais but stayed at 1750 calories for the day...still in a deficit if over by 100 cals for the day
Its still early so I hope to get to the gym before I sit on my arse and audit files at the SpEd office all day (my summer job). Oh so thrilling. Have to do some lite grocery shopping for the week before my trip....chicken tuna and veggies all week for me!
I am proud that I tracked everything this weekend. It helped that I skipped the booze cruise Friday and hung in saturday too..... Was at 5 pounds lost since Tuesday this am...not weighing again till Tuesday (the couple of cocktails tonight prob will make the scale funky...water water water!!!!
Good thing I have a savings account and there's still something in it!
Got some fish for dinner and some brussel sprouts.....So far only had yogurt with granola and protein and some cottage cheese...I was real lazy and stayed in bed till noon (I never ever do that!!!!)
Off to clean my room and wring out my laundry in the washer before I put it in the dryer....the washer is not draining... maybe that's what I meant by my savings account??? that I have to buy a new washer? Perhaps I forgot to write the rest of story or accidentally deleted it? hmmmm....
Soooo my macros were actually pretty good today!!! Calories were low, but I slept till noon..
cals:1232
Protein:39.7
Carbs: 32.4
Fat: 27.9
Should be aiming for 1650, 40,35,25...so this is good for me
This week I've had a total deficit of 7,321 with exercise and eats..... Hope the scale is friendly tomorrow!
ok, I have lost 5.5# since last week!!! I weighed in at (holy sh*t) 180 last Tuesday when I decided to do the opt program and the scale said 174.5# this morning!!!! Feeling great!! I'm on my way!!!
Thanks ladies! Some important news: 1. Trader Joes is finally opening on the 11th on route one in Saugus (about 5 minutes away from me!) I've been waiting so long for this! 2. I fixed the belt on my vacuum cleaner all by myself, 3. Was officially given the role as team leader for grade 8 for this year at my school.
Did 15 minutes of cardio today (walked 15minute/mile)
and A2 as well as recovery
Step-ups: used a 12 pound bar to improve balance 10X3
DB face pull: 7.5# 10X3
bent over row:15# 10X3
curls: 12.5# 10X2, 12.5# 8X1
trunk extension: 10X3
side planks: 60" then 40"
push ups: 10X2 then 8 more.....woot!!! on my way to that goal
Just got an amazing pedicure...pretty orange nails...
So my trip was AWESOME!!!! Had so much fun with the girls and walked a lot. Went to the gym one day and did ok with eating. What's most important is the quality time I spent with the girls.
Anyhoot, changing my plan just a bit. A friend of mine has been using the isagenix cleanse system for a couple of years now and has had fantastic results. I'm quitting smoking (AGAIN) tomorrow and want to just clean out my body of that crap as well as the booze I drank this weekend. A nice boost to the metabolism would be nice too. I checked out the nutrients etc and the shakes and snacks and sensible meal put me at about the same calorie intake as with OPt. So, I'm pre-cleansing today and tomorrow (two shakes and 1 400-600 calorie meal) and then the cleanse piece comes onWed and Thursday. I'll be busy at work and need to finish the curtains for my living room, so, I figure I'll be OK.
It's 11 day total with the last 2 days being cleanse days again. After this, I'm restarting OPT. I plan on doing lite exercise the next ten days too.
I'm excited to try this and hope it gives me some enery. (I've been SOOO sluggish) I watched several reports (not just testimonials) on utube and it appears legit. I'm not looking for a quick fix by any means. I know how those turn out. : but, if it clean me up a bit and give my metabolism a boost and help decrease cravings too, that's great.
Right now i'm watching the olympics....I love them.... especially the swimming: my stomach gets all twisted watching the races
Ok, gonna catch up on everyone's logs tomorrow..... is it kind of sad that I missed this forum while i was away? hmmmm
So today is day two of the cleanse. THe two pre-cleanse (shake) days were real easy: just like the slim fast diet. Two shakes and a sensible meal. Yesterday was difficult as I watched commercials for fried chicken...(I don't even like fried chicken!) so I scrubbed my fridge, pantry, and rest of kitchen...as shiny as it can be!
So far so good today (at 2:22pm). Worked all morning and feeling a bit tired, but just trying to keep busy. I still have two more glasses of the cleanse stuff and little chocolate snack things.
Tomorrow is a shake day and I'm going to dinner with a few friends at Aura for restaurant week. I already looked a the menu :yum! I love the pricier restaurants because the portions are always perfect, not oversized.
I'm just going to stretch and roll today. Walked the past few days an did crunches and pushups on Tuesday.
Anyway, looking forward to my first check in day tomorrow (weights and measures). I already feel, well, cleaner. It may be just in my mind but hell, I'll take it. I hope this will help remind me of what I put in my mouth.
Soooo I lost 6 pounds(177-171) and 7.25 inches all over. I feel great and had a small garden salad with lemon for lunch. Plan on doing the shake before I go to dinner and having grilled fish (6oz) with veggies for dinner with the ladies. Going for a leisurely walk in a few.
Honestly thought this would be worse! But I really feel good. I don't feel hungry or deprived, I didn't even want the tortilla chips my BF was munching on (and that's my fave snack). I had to hide my scale and tape measure since I'm not supposed to check in again until next Friday after 2 more days of actually cleansing.
Had to drive my little bro to camp at Lake George in NY today. I was in the car for 10 hours...bluhhhhhhhhhhhh.......
I love my family, I love my family, I love my family...
Anyway, still on track with shakes and food: did eat a whole bag of sugar snap-peas en route...they are delicious... maybe my new fave snack.
Have to finish my last 5 hours at the SpEd office tomorrow and then set up my room Tuesday and Wednesday... (dreading this: the last guy in this room was such a pig, in numerous ways, but the room is disgusting! I always scrub my room at the end of the year and then end up in a disgusting room the next (why I keep getting moved....ohhhh, administration can't make up their minds) Some day when I'm in charge...
Two more days of shakes and meal and then two cleanse days. I'm actually looking forward tot he cleanse days.

I love raw peas. Usually in early summer we buy garden/english peas (the ones where you don't eat the pod). I'm thinking next year that maybe I'll grow some.
Oops, meant to say congrats on the loss, and the inches!
Thanks ladies! Still feeling good but a bit fatigued. This probably has a lot to do with the 4.5 hours of scrubbing and rearranging furniture in my classroom this morning. That's done! Just need to make it pretty now with some fabric on the boards and walls...
Went to the library... I've been on a Jodi Piccoult kick this summer but they didn't have any in so, I got Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, (a book many of my 8th grade girls read), a Phillipa Gregory book (historical novel), and, a memoir called Passing for Thin: Losing half my weight and Finding Myself by Frances Kuffel. Awesome awesome awesome read....can't put it down! I've been reading it since I got home and am half way done with it!
So, tomorrow is my last shake day. Can't believe I only have 3 days left of this program!
I am looking forward to dinner at an Argentinian BBQ Friday night with my BF.....mmmmm YUM!
Happy note: New brita filter is excellent! Already boiled and peeled eggs from Trader Joes equally excellent.
Hi Shell! I just finished reading through you log, and you're making such great progress! Nice job!
What do you teach? I'm a middle school science teacher, and I LOVE it. 8th graders are my absolute favorite age. They're so funny and cute and old enough to be really thoughtful and insightful, but not old enough to already know everything or just care about getting an A on the test.

8th grade special ed...full inclusion.... My students are wonderful. (can be quite the handful behavior wise) but, I never have a dull day!
Bytsi: I'm going through Jodi withdrawl!!! However, that memoir I just finished was awesome too!
Bev: thanks for stopping by! I look forward to seeing your progress too!
Almost done with cleanse day #8. Have abit of headache, but I think I over exerted myself. I finally finished my summer project: curtains for the living room. Awwww...now I can relax (until
Monday!) Have to go to Marlbourgh (MA) tomorrow for a leadership meeting....should be interesting... (really don't want to drive though after my overly extended day in the car Sunday)
I wouldn't either if I were you...I HATE riding or driving long distances. But I hope you enjoy yourself. I have to travel to Gettysburg again this weekend so I can sympathize.

I'm excited because I found her newest book (forget the title - senility sucks!) at the half-price book store, so I don't have to wait for paperback! Now I just have to finish the last few pages of "Breaking Dawn" (which I borrowed from my DD)... I also found the newest hardback Sophie Kinsella book -- SCORE!!
