Didn't get the Macros quite right... I went and bought some avocados today to help with upping the fat. I find it's been a bit hard getting enough fat. I was joking with a co-worker today about how am looking for "fatty" foods to get my macros in line. Exercise: (Note: I am continue on the NROLW program for lifting days) Stage 4-B - skipped the Lateral Flexion/Cobra and HITT - ran out of time. In other news, another co-worker noticed today that I have lost weight. Pretty amazing only after a week on the program. Granted I had been a general down trend in weight for several months, but a very much the "slow boat to " I am hoping I can keep the calories/macros right over the weekend as I am going camping. I going to try my hardest! |

Hey
I have read the book also. I am not following OPT yet. I have a wrist injury at the moment and will see a doctor wednesday about it. I was in stage 5 of NROLW grrr had to stop and am doing cardio only. BUT i have been measuring everything and keeping a journal again. You said you are still doing NROLW on your weight days , are you following the other stuff as per OPT then? I guess the macros and the cardio? Figuring the macros out the way it is laid out for me i think is the hardest thing. Anyway take care and thats awesome that you are losing it again! SHari |

Hi, Jen! I saw your post on the "Troubleshoot" thread and decided to check out your log and subscribe to it. Our stats are so close that it's amazing. I started at 174 when I hired Leigh as my online trainer and have both of her books. I'm not quite sure of my weightloss because I have a weigh-in scheduled for next week (I'm banned from the scale......lol). But our heights and starting measurements are really close. That's what has me so interested in your journey. I just wanted to let you know that Leigh really knows her stuff and has really helped me with some issues that I struggle with time and time again. Stick with her program and you'll definitely see results. Keep up those awesome workouts!

Yesterday's Eats:
Not great, I spurged on a root beer at dinner... put me over on calories and carbs. Sigh. Today: (better and I even worked in a slice of pizza!)
Water - On target yesterday, still working on it today! Exercise: Yesterday: 25 minutes SS on Treadmill at 70% THR. Suppose to be 60 minutes, but coudn't spare the time at lunch since I was leaving at 2:00 to go camping. Today: None except several times up and down a very tall fire lookout tower. The camping was fun, stayed in a fire lookout tower in the southern oregon cascades. Beatiful view from up there - you can see for miles and miles. My dog couldn't do the stairs on the tower, so my DH had to carry her up and down the stairs (she's a 55 pound dog). I'm too much of a klutz to have done it. With all the NROLW lighting, I can totaly carry her, it just haven't found a way for NROLW to deal with my klutzness! Give me a chance to injury myself and I will! By the way - I was hoping I could hold out until next Wednesday, "My offical weigh in day", but I am down 3 pounds - 180!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! I haven't seen movement like this EVER. I'm serious. Even in high school running on the x-country team, I ran over 400 miles one summer, only a few pounds lost. I wish I had discovered Leigh YEARS ago. |

Housecleaning kicks my butt more than "real" workouts!
Great job getting so close to today's goals!

Today:
Exercise - Did Leigh's OPT A-1 Lifting and more housework (got company coming this weekend.) Have to say the neutral grib shoulder presses are much harder than "normal" shoulder presses. Had to lower weights a lot. Eats:
Pretty good day for eats - I had both avacados and almonds today which help with the ratios. So I am finding myself really annoyed with all of the low-fat advertising/food there is. With as much trouble as I am having getting my fat macro to be high enough, I look at the fat-free/low-fat stuff and say "Give me some FAT!". Really. I have to work at getting the fat and keeping the ratios right. It's easy to get just protein, or just carbs. Just fat? Not so easy unless you can drink oil olive (yuck!). |

avocados, butter on your veggies, olive oil (big green salad with O&V or EVOO on veggies before you roast them), nuts (though PRO & CHO come with them)

Thanks - I have been adding olive oil to my veggies & eating more avocados. I think I need to add some fat to my breakfast - currently it's pretty low fat, that way I don't have to work so hard the rest of the day to get it in. mmm bacon. But seriously, I think I'll add some nuts or something to my breakfast. |

do you eat eggs - whole eggs or just the whites? The yolks have fat & good nutrients.
You could add dark meat chicken thighs in place of breasts all the time. Bacon. Cook the eggs in butter. Live it up and leave the crispy skin on the chicken breast.

Hello! I'm still here. It's been a crazy week or so. My parents visited last weekend, then JP server was down so I couldn't post, and then I left on Wednesday evening for a 4 day vacation over in Bend. Eats haven't been great (but not completely off base), but exercise has been good. Haven't weighed in for serveral days. Planning on doing that in the morning.
Bend was wonderful.. did a bunch of hiking, shopping, and just chillin' - which is what I needed since work has been very stressful. But - the cool thing about the shopping is that I am solidly a size 14 now. Which I haven't been in FOREVER. I always felt lucky when I could fit into the 16's. I don't think I'll be staying at 14 very long as they are slightly big, but the 12's are too small. The interesting thing about this weight loss is that I need new clothes, but don't want to spend too much on them since (hopefully) they won't fit for long. The funny thing was last week the DH said to me - "Dear, you really shouldn't be wearing those pants anymore... they don't look so good". In this case they basically were falling off. So after this weekend I now have shorts and pants that no longer fall off. yeah for that! |
