Lovely new picture Jen. I'm glad you asked Leigh about vacation because I have a Vegas trip coming up in two weeks and was wondering how to manage with me being on OPT.

Have a good day!!

So finally last day of rest week. I'm ready to move on. Didn't actually like such high carbs. Found that I was hungry more often then before. I seem to gravitate these days more to higher protein.

Weigh it still at 166, though the scale has taunted me with 165 a bit. I have a digital scale, and it is currently says 166.0, so really 165 is "just around the corner". I think the higher carbs have caused a bit more water weight this week, so I really expect once I start the final stage, I should see a drop since it flips the macros to 50% protein instead of 50% carbs.

I inspired someone at work to buy Leigh's books! She is really excited and is looking forward to reading them this weekend. I even offered to show her how to do the lifting in OPT since she has never really lifted free weights. I do have to say between taking a power lifting class at the Y and NROLW, I feel pretty comfortable around free weights.

T-7 days to vacation!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to Vegas next Thursday night!!! My plan is workout in the am at the hotel Friday and Saturday (spa day sun!!) and just really pay attention to what I'm putting in my mouth..... I'm trying to make a lifestyle change so, going on vacation and not scarfing 3000 calories a day would be part of the change I guess...not going to deprive but keep it in moderation! Good luck!!

Good luck to those of you going to Vegas... talk about tempetation city! At least with camping, most food come from the grocery store!!!

Weekend was good. I hauled more rock to finish out the current landscaping project. Did my 60 minute low key walk with the dog. Did some prep work for the camping trip (cleaning the cooler, finding the tent, etc.).

Oh and I saw 164 on the scale! One more pound and I will have offically lost 20 pounds since starting OPT! Whoot!

And Epsi - I made my own greek strained yogurt! It was SO easy. Thanks for the suggestion.

So my closet these days is pretty bare. Only stuff I've bought recently actually is wearable. I'm trying to hold out as long as I can before breaking down and doing any realy shopping..

Then I get a call from my sister today. She's cleaning out her closet and was wondering if I was interested in any of her clothes that don't fit (she also has lost some weight recently). I am so all over that! The only downside is that if I take any of the pants they will need to be shorted A LOT since she is about 6 inches taller than me! But hopefully this influx of clothes will get me though a couple of more months.

Exercise Today: C1 lifting.

Thanks Jane!

Last two days haven't been great for exercise. I did about 30 minutes of walking yesterday, but didn't make it to gym for lifting today. Eating ok, even with going out for dinner last night.

I just HATE the days before vacation at work. TOO much stuff to do to account for the fact that I am gone for a week. Very stressful. And my body has decided to basically rebel and be very tired. I am tired both mentally and physically. I will be so happy when I am on vacation!

Still holding steady at 164.

So I have achieved a milestone... according to the BMI calulators, I am no longer "obese"! I am now just mearly "overweight". It's funny how a 1/2 inch makes the difference. If I put in 5'2", I am at 30.0, and 5' 2.5" (my true height), I am at 29.5. Offically NOT obese! I know that this is a silly thing, but hey one needs this kind of boost sometimes!

Yep - we are the same height - and I found a time when the 1/2 inch did matter!!!

So today is a REALLY big milestone. I am at 163. Which means I have lost a total of 20 pounds since starting OPT. This is my last week of the program (I will have completed 11 weeks of 12). Not bad! Next week is vacation, so maintenance/refeed week. Then back at it again with another round!

YEAH!!!!! Leigh rocks!

Hey Jen,

I'm 159cm, which is the same as 5'2.5" and your current wt (74kg) is approximately where I got stuck all the time in the past (72kg for me) when I was predominantly doing cardio. Lifting weights and only limited cardio works way better.

Hello! Back form vacation. It was great. Weather was nice and mostly in the 70's. Spent most of the time in Glacier-Waterton NP. Did several longish hikes (5-8 miles a piece). Actually got close up to one of the glaciers. The park seems to think that all the glaciers will be gone by 2020. So if you haven't been there, you ought to go soon! It's a beautiful place.

So as far as diet goes. I did not track at all. I just had fun and ate what I wanted. The results - up to 168 this morning. Och! I think that most of it is water/food weight that Leigh talks about when you go off dieting. I'm not too stressed out about it. Like I've said before, I now know how to get it off, so I am not that worried. Before Leigh, I would have been depressed about because it would take me months to get that 5 pounds off again. Now, I think week and half, and I'll be back to pre-vacation weight.

This sort of thinking allowed me to have a stree-free and great vacation (and eat some great food!).

So now I'm refed and rested and ready to go again. So today I start round 2 of Opt - FIGHT!

Oh - and I saw my sister during vacation. She hadn't seem me since x-mas, and was like "You lost half your body weight!!!!". Amazing how just 20 pounds can have such a reaction. She was so amazed, that she called my parents and grandmother (who I was seeing later in the day) and "Warned" them about me. Too funny.

Jen..........What an awesome compliment!!! I'm sure you were floating the rest of the time there. You deserve to be showing yourself off and absorbing all those good vibes because you worked hard for them.

As expected, the extra vacation weight is coming off easy. already down a pound and a half and only my second day back on OPT. Unfortunatly this little vacation is going to put me 2 weeks behind on weight loss of where I wish I was. Oh well. What's two weeks in the big scheme of things?

In the grand scheme of things it makes little difference. Sounds like you've already figured that out.
