Yeah docs and nutrition for me atleast have been notoriously awful! I was also told to stop eating eggs, butter etc
I've thought that the party line on cholesterol was nonsense for a while--I've had high cholesterol (my doctor calls it "familial hyperlipidemia") for years. Recently my cholesterol has finally come in as normal....about six months after I started eating two eggs a day, with butter. Pretty funny stuff.
OK, they are from my chickens so extra healthy, but still....

Hello...so it's been awhile...and may be few and far between for awhile...I will try to still log my workouts, but I may be on here a bit less. Camp starts tomorrow morning, and my hours change and also I have very little computer access during the day, because my behind the times boss believes that it's better and LESS confusing to write all changes and inquiries in a pad and THEN transfer them to a computer later...(shoot me now), so there are no computers in the downstairs camp office during the summer...you know an office that's responsible for bills, tuition billing and changes, and looking up phone numbers for parents on a 52 page alphabetical LIST cause that's much easier/faster/more efficient than a database.
ANYWAY...whining cut short...I'll be here, just not as much!
Hey Kristen! Sorry about the behind the times boss. I bet he doesn't even text!
Good thing we didn't plan anything this weekend. There wasn't any pre-planning or communication as far as where we were expected and when, so our free time was pretty broken up and we didn't really venture out of Queens. We did have a great time though, pics are on facebook, and hopefully will be on my log later, though I have to actually get some work done today!
So, what exactly happens at "summer camp"? This is not something we did or even heard of as kids. Is it a geographical or economical phenomenon (ie rich)? What's the purpose?
Wow... I love your boss! That is SOOO modern and efficient!!!!!!
*sigh*

I never went to a private day camp because my parent's couldn't afford it, but if they could have I surely would have gone. I went to a town rec camp, and it was still a wonderful experience.
Well...our camp is a bit different, to me, and to lots of our parents. I think for some parents summer camp is extended school or daycare, it's something for their children to do during the day while they're at work. But it's really so much more.
At our camp we believe that each child should have "a great place to be me" somewhere to grow and become more confident. Somewhere they're not afraid to be themselves. One of our directors was a child psychologist, and the other a nursery school teacher. They bring a unique way of thinking to the camp, and because of that, I feel it gives each child a unique experience...
At camp they make friends outside of their normal school group...we have children from the burbs and kids from the city so it's a nice mix of different friends for them! It's a place for fun and exploration without the stress of grades and deadlines. It gives them a chance to try out different things that they may not otherwise have a chance to at school.
I love it...sometimes I wish I were a child again so I could go...
Well it's been a slow week, there's always a lot of work to be done the first week of camp and my schedule changes from 9-5 to 7-5 and sometimes 7!!!

I get the whole metabolic thing...but dayam, I was TIRED today. Didn't have the pep that I felt last week. Being low carb, and lower calorie really makes these workouts hard, good thing my higher cal days are after these workouts, otherwise i'd be WAAAAY over my daily intake! Hoping to get a lift in today at some point. We're going out later to see one of our favorite singers, check her out if you have chance:
DB Chest Press
35lbs x 8
45lbs x 8
45lbs x 8
50lbs x 8
55lbs x 6
60lbs x 2 PR!
Seated Rows
120lbs x 12
120lbs x 10
120lbs x 10
Power Cleans:
Then I played around with some power cleans! The hubby was teaching me. I did a bunch with just the bar, and then with a total of 65lbs. They're fun...I'll definitely be doing more of them. This was my first time so I took it easy! They tuckered me out a bit, so I decided to do some cardio and then call it a day!
And aren't cleans fun!?!? Once you get power cleans, try full-squat (Oly) cleans if you REALLY wanna be exhausted...

The bench was FUN! The only annoying this was that my trainer was there and after I did it I told him as he walked by...and he says..."ok...but don't go any heavier you don't need to do that..." I'm sure in his mind the rest of that was 'cause you will bulk up'. Oh well...I like heavy to...NYA NYA!

Oh...gee....thanks....you're too kind....really....ROFL...that was a good one...esp since I LOVE the muppets!!
Sounds like you're having fun with the workouts, which is a good thing. Hope the camp stuff doesn't drag too much. 7am is a little early to be starting work (I did it for years to get a better commute, but hated it).
You WILL bulk up. I'm writing an article which will explain why, and it'll be a bit, but trust me on this… I have SCIENTIFIC PROOF!
Hmmmmm....mind if I run it by a friend of mine when you're done... Srsly tho I'm gonna have to slap him if he says it again... That will be fun.........

Yeah....me+7am=one cranky bitch. I'm so glad I don't have to work with me.
Hey Kristen.. just stopping by to say hi! Hope camp is going well... I sure hope you have better weather there than we do here in Maine... we had 3 weeks of rain, 3 days of sun... and then right back to stinkin' rain again. Ugh.
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
Are you freak'n kidding about the trainer and the bulk up thing? Yikes!!! And LOL too!
Yeah...he's a nice guys but...

Hanging in, looking to hit some new lows this week, I asked Alan to revamp my plan since I was at camp, and I felt I could be a little more strict, so we'll see...I REALLY would like to lose a good few lbs before camp's over!!! I'm motivated for now...lets see if I can stay that way for the next 6 weeks!!!!!!

YOU KNOW IT!! FRIDAY IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! I'll try to log on later and actually post in people's logs.....I am so behind!!!!!
Also, for the record:
Workouts have been happening...lots of cardio, I did rowing once this week, 30 mins, elliptical twice for 40 mins, and training with Charlie on wed after work...HOLY CRAP WAS I POOPED!! Trying to workout on Saturdays with him too, but this weekend was sabotaged...hopefully next weekend will "work out"! (Hehehe...ok that was a bad one..)
Ok another workout tonight, it was Friday and I was tired, but all of a sudden at the end of the day I had a second wind. So I went with it:
DB Chest Press
40lbs x 8
45lbs x 6
45lbs x 6
50lbs x 6
55lbs x 4 (assisted on the last one)
Seated Row
120lbs x 12
120lbs x 10
130lbs x 8
Pull Downs
80lbs x 10 Wide Grip
80lbs x 10 Reverse Inside Grip
80lbs x 10 Reverse REALLY Inside Grip
80lbs x 10 Neutral Grip
BB Overhead Press
50lbs x 12
50lbs x 12
50lbs x 10
Cable Curls
90lbs x 12
90lbs x 12
120lbs x 10
Push Downs
120lbs x 12
120lbs x 12
140lbs x 10
20mins Elliptical
I need to get back on a better schedule, my summer schedule at work sucks! I go from 9:30-10:00 till 5:00 to much longer and intense days from 7am to 5-6pm.
I kind of skipped real workouts for the first week of the new schedule unintentionally. My new schedule completely wiped me out. I think I'm finally getting my stamina back now so hopefully the workouts will get better.
