Oh hey, did I tell you we're headed your way next weekend? My brother in law is getting married--we're staying at the LaGuardia Marriot, and the wedding is in Great Neck (Leonard's?)...

I did Bradley method too! I think it's one of the best ways to prepare for childbirth and I felt very educated and prepared going into it. I had a midwife and was booked to deliver at an "alternative birthing center" within a traditional hospital. Unfortunately for me, my son was stubbornly breach and simply refused to turn despite me trying EVERYTHING possible to get him head down. So I ended up having a scheduled c-section. Definitely NOT easy to recover from, but I mananged and it all worked out okay.

I used to love negotiating with/messing with this one Drug Prosecutor. If I got him to do something he didn't want to do, he would always tell me to get the fuck out of his office. It was a sign that I had done my job well. Does that make me passive aggressive? Cause it sure was fun!

So I am always skeptical of doctors dishing out nutrition and fitness adivce. Even my own. She is pretty cool and down with a lot of naturopath ideas, but doesn't seem to be on the same page as me when it comes to fitness.

I also appreciate reading what everyone wrote about birthing. I think you and I are in the same boat timeline wise about teh behbes.
Yeah docs and nutrition for me atleast have been notoriously awful! I was also told to stop eating eggs, butter etc at one point...when the real problem was my weight. I figured out my body's tipping point is somewhere around 330lbs. Once I go over or near that weight everything goes up, cholesterol, glucose, etc...But as my weight now...I eat eggs almost every day in some form or another and eat lots of turkey and cheese with my veggies...and cholesterol's been good. Your FIL's diet sounds just like what they put my dad on post all of his heart surgeries. Not fun...esp for an Irish guy.... I'm glad you got something out of all the baby stuff...ME too!! Lol about being on the same schedule...

Awwww.....thanks!! Plus, I'll have all of this knowledge from you gals who have already done this motherhood thing to keep me in check!!!

ROFL...no no...you're safe. Geez you're like my MIL....every time we're at a family gathering she rubs my DH's cousin's baby on me!! I told me Dr. (the one I like) and she said..."ummm she knows it doesn't work that way right...I can call her if you want..." That's why she's the one I like...

See the whole birthing center attached to the hospital thing is what I'm leaning towards...because you never know. C-Sections are no fun for sure...my cousin just had one...she was NOT a happy camper!!! I'm loving hearing everyone take on the Bradley Method...I am definitely gonna check it out!!!

Lol...could be Greg! It is fun...I'm guilty of it too...but this guy...is the kind of guy who used to ask his assistant to empty the garbage can for (in her heels and skirt) (which was down 2 flights of stairs and outside) because he didn't like to get "dirty"...so he's a TOTALLY different kind of get the fuck out of my office...lol...

Oh Darn, too bad you guys are busy. Oh well I have a feeling we will be slightly busy too! If I can convince Shawn, we're going to stay an extra day, we'll see.

Oh look...amongst all the baby talk...a workout:

BB Bench Press
Bar x 10
95lbs x 8
115lbs x 6
115lbs x 6
115lbs x 6
125lbs x 4 (last rep was KILLER but i made it...and thanks to an EXCELLENT spotter (hubby)...I can say it was ALL ME.) My plan is do continue to do a few sets at 115 and occasionally push the 125 and see how I progress. I'd like to be able to do a few more reps at 135...but I have to back off a bit first!

Seated Rows

100lbs x 15
110lbs x 15
120lbs x 10

Seated DB Shoulder Press

25's x 15
25's x 15
25's x 15

*I used to do these a long time ago, dunno why I stopped...so I'm gonna do them again. I like the seated over the standing for the moment because the standing ones put pressure on my lower back a little and I'm trying to avoid that.

Curls Superset:

Alternating DB Curls
25lbs x 20
25lbs x 20
25lbs x 20

DB Hammer Curls
25lbs x 20
25lbs x 20
25lbs x 20

*I'm working on these b/c Charlie says I'll need to build them up for arm wrestling. Right now I feel like my curls are a bit weak in comparison to other exercises to it can't hurt to get better at them! (Kinda felt like a dude today tho...standing in the mirrors curling...LOLZ.)

Push Downs

90lbs x 15
120lbs x 15
140lbs x 12

*You can't put the pin on the 100lbs mark b/c of the way the stack is, so I moved it down to what I thought was 110, and then did the last set at what I thought was 120...turns out after the 100lb plate it goes in 20lb increments...DOH! Did them anyway!!

Felt good today...wore my Vibrams for the workout, and I still LOVE them for lifting. I feel a lot more balanced and grounded in them when I lift. I am ordering a pair in black...

I doubt they accidently did. It was prolly deliberate maliciousness on the part of the department of carbland security. They may apologize and say they tripped on their way to someone else's plate… but you know better. Hopefully they've learned their lesson as they were molarsquished.

Well, they do call it carb loading for a reason you know. The best lifting I think I've ever done was during a maintenance week (not planned, just playing around).

I find that chocolate (or cheesecake - or chocolate cheesecake) fueled workouts usually rock!

Yeah....oh carbs *sigh* I'm actually running ideas past Alan about this...we'll see what he says.

Since my job changes in the summer I.E. - next week, and I am confined to a smaller office and working longer hours and have less access to food, I have asked him to think about another plan for the next 8 weeks...to see if I can do some kind of "fast" fat loss program for these 8 weeks and then go back to my other plan...so we'll see what he comes up with! I would love to lose some more serious weight for baby season next year...(after summit)...hmmm or maybe we'll name our child Kansas City?

Anyway.......that's the plan!!!

Also...I MUST SEE THIS MOVIE...cause the squirrel ROCKS!!!

So, also...just so you know...our camp season starts on this coming Monday so I may be a bit scarce for the next 8 weeks... I'll still be around, but I may not get on here as much...

Hey ... just reading about your ongoing stomach issues ... and the family history of them. I just finished a great book that has lots of quizzes and stuff to help you pinpoint certain issues. There's a whole supplement thing based upon the quizzes, and some recipes that aren't my style ... but the book was cheap (under $15 on Amazon) and gave me some great info about immune function, digestion, and whole-body health. http://www.amazon.com/Food-Intoleran...d_bxgy_b_img_b
