Ooooo...I like the top ones too...I like the other ones...but whenever I wear high shoes I feel like a giant...5'9 isn't sooooo tall...but it just makes me feel bigger and clumpier... I dunno why!! When I'm smaller...maybe I will be braver and buy more "high" shoes...

I was looking at those...when you had them in your older avatar I looked them up at one point...I thought maybe they were lifting shoes! They look so comfy...are they? I am mainly a barefoot person unless I have to wear shoes so they might be my thing...not the hubby so much tho...he can't even stand flip flops...cause of the stuff between his toes. No...definitely not cycling that is mad!!

(do you do spinning?)

Vibrams are awesome for lifting. It took me a bit to get used to how much my toes actually bent on the back foot when doing lunges... but after that all good.

A friend just got her husband some for Father's day... she said the same thing about him hating flipflops for the toe thing. Word is he loves 'em anyway. It might be worth a shot... they're actually nothing like flip flops in that you don't really feel like your one toe is uneven from the rest, if that makes sense. All the toes have something. Maybe it's just me 'cuz I'm OCD.

spinning? I've *done* it... I don't like it, but I've done it.
We have a trainer, but it's only used occasionally. You know how some people feel about treadmills versus moving outside? I feel that spinning. It's so useless and boring and you can't take a break and coast... plus it tends to bother my knee for prolonged periods.

You can use them for lots. Bouldering, lifting, running, kayaking, rock climbing, blah blah blah. Or you can be like me and use them everywhere, get all sorts of funny looks, (but usually it's with a smile, cuz there's just something so fun about them), and feel like totally stable and able to do far more and have more balance than in shoes. They took about 15 pounds off of me, it felt like. (I tend to feel weird and unstable and not have as good body-awareness when I gain weight.)

I didn't think I'd like them, cuz I hate flipflops (but am ok with sandals, I admit my problem with flip flops is that they're so prevalent now and people think they're real frickin shoes when they're NOT, and I'm not a fan of backless/no ankle strap shoes), and I really hate those toe socks thingies. ugh.

But these are really teh awsum, it just feels more like being barefut than anything else. I don't notice the toe separation; the weirdness of them not feeling right in the slots goes away after a minute of wearing them and moving your foot around. The only problem I had when I first got them was that the seams left indents on my toes that would hurt after a while. But being that my feet are a bit smaller now (I was bloated) it's not a problem.

I'd totally recommend them to anyone. Plus, they're like guaranteed and crap and you can send em back if you no likey.

Fortunately, it's not like they just fall out all unannounced and shit.

I am really curious about these...might have to go for a pair myself...then maybe try talking the hubby into them!!

I would imagine they would be awsum for lifting...since you can feel/use your toes more I figured that balance would be better...plus...it's better when your feets are closer to the ground anyways!!!

I am sure that the resident meat-heads at our gym would think they were totally weird...which is of course another plus in my book...

Hi! I just read your entire log. Congrats on your recent weight loss! You are so going to rock the New Rules.

Since we're on the topic of shoes and Keen, I thought I'd mention that I'm also a jewelry designer and my little business is named Keen Designs. COINCIDENCE. As for shoe purchases, these are my latest:

I also have a bit of a handbag problem, but that's another story.

I think we need to get JP to either change the forum to the "JP Fashion Forum", or at least add a Shoes and Accessories sub-forum.

Thanks about the weight loss...hopefully the downward trend will continue...and seeing as I can now reward myself with other things like shoes and HANDBAGS...it should continue! I also have a handbag problem...but then what woman doesn't???

I truly can't wait to do the New Rules...and by August I should be able to do more of the things that i would have to modify now...

Who needs weightlifting if you carry your entire life around in a bag everyday???

I must not be a real girl ... I'd rather be barefoot on in sneakers ... and I hate having to carry a bag. I have a giant one cuz with two kids there's always something I need or wish I had, so now I just carry everything. Make that two of everything. But I hate it!!

Go away killjoy.

I saw that Chloe bag on bluefly! it's on my stalking list. Oh, and the green one I posted DOES come in red. It's more maroon though. It's L.A.M.B.

I have to say that I'm with you. I go from one extreme (keys and credit cards in pockets) to a big bag that kind of doubles as a briefcase. I suspect that all started when I started wearing safety shoes to work. I gave up on the girl stuff. The last plant I worked in it was dirty, hot, and I worked afternoon shift. I now wear my old work clothes... stains, rips and all, in the garden.
