Kristen, ditch the trainer ... if you need the motivation then it's worth it (ie if you will blow off an appointment with yourself) but otherwise it doesnt' sound like this trainer was really giving you what you need anyways!

Hey there,

Completely off topic, but I saw you talking about bead work. Following a link for something else (fawn rescue) I saw this very interesting site and thought you might be interested in it. She makes kiln-annealed glasswork beads.

Yeah...I'm thinkin that since the hubby and I go together for the most part...I can handle motivating myself. And if I don't..he will!!! I think I may need someone at least for the beginning of the summer camp season (I work at a day camp) because I am going to be so wiped...I am not going to want to go at the end of the day! Also summer carries some emotional baggage that I need to be careful of!

Closer to the end of August tho, I think I'll cut off whoever I am working with...it's time to get my own act together...I can't always rely on someone else to do it for me...plus I wanna be in on the NROLW challenge...I have the book and everything already...I'm studying up...

Many, many years ago. I think it's one of those things I always meant to get back to. It's funny how life pulls us in so many different ways. It might be a future thing again.

Cardio tonight was not too nothing exciting....all though I was sandwiched between Grunty Mc Grunterson and Mr. Stinky Pants on the elliptical...it was not only a workout...but an exercise in how not to laugh at other people in public...Mr. Mc Grunterson sounded like he "wasn't quite finished" if you catch my drift...several women on surrounding cardio equipment were hilarious...and there I was trying to Stifle hysterics!!! Mr Stinky Pants on the other hand was in dire need of baby wipes...or SOMETHING...cause MAN....did he SMELL...*gag* I have a sensitivity to the overly foul odiferous things...and he fit that category quite well...I would rather have been working out next to a skunk...really I would.

Anyway...off to make din din do when the hubby comes home he has some munchies...mmmmmm egg white avocado omelettes and cheese....YAY!!!

Elliptical Trainer - 40 mins - random setting level 14

Oh Hai, my internetz are back! Hey, cleaning house burns a shitload of calories. One thing that having the bodybugg taught me was that doing housework and yardwork burns MORE calories than an olympic lifting session. Who would have thought.

Mmmmm...did someone say avocado?

Loved your description of your cardio session, but Mr Stinky Pants would have been the one that made me quit (cuz I could drown out the grunter).

I've been with you from the beginning but stopped in to say I'm totally copying this for dinner.

Love your spirit and your workouts too.

I LUUUUUVVV avocado!!!

Stinky Pants sounds pretty nasty... I hate when someone who JUST had a nice soothing ciggy comes in and works out next to me. ICK!!! Stinks to hell of stale smoke, like working out in an ashtray . BLEH!!! Bugs me even more than grunters and Mr. Towel. Oh - him - haven't met Mr. Towel yet? Dude gets on the stepper next to me, and every few minutes he waves his towel around like a big fan. Thing is - it always smacks me or gets in my peripheral vision and makes me flinch - and it's NASTY cuz it's the one he sweats all over too... .

Ok ewwwwww...I hope I never meet Mr. Towel...cause he'd end up being Mr. Towel in his A$$....lol...flicking your sweaty towel at me...no...I don't think so!!! And the smokers...I love that too...it's like...why are on cardio again? My mom was a smoker..I hated it!!! Never did it because I hated the smell so much...ewwww people with weird gym habits...at least I know about Mr. Stinky Pants now...and I can avoid him next time!!! No wonder it was the only elliptical left open and everything else was taken!!!

I weighed myself this morning. Let me preface this by saying that last time I weighed myself on June 6th I weighed 327. I had my period last week, I usually retain massive amounts of water…plus it was 100 degrees and humid as a MF all last week. I historically gain weight after my period and I usually keep it. I also had a bad week in my opinion last week because it was so hot I had no energy, and I went to the gym anyway…but didn’t feel like I was able to give 100% at all. I hate not doing things 100%...I tend to be an all of nothing kind of person. So, I got on the scale, and then got off and on again three more times…it said 322!!! (I even made PJ get on there just to see what he weighed!) Now, I am sure that at 2 lbs a week at least 4 of those are real…maybe…but I was stumped! I guess my body really did need a rest week! I was planning one either this week or next…so…to have it accidentally last week works for me…maybe all my rest weeks should be planned around PMS???

Anyway….for now…YAHOOOOO DOWN 5!!!!

Remember that exercise only serves to increase your burn rate, and then only if it is not so taxing that you sit on your ass the rest of the time ... fatloss occurs primarily in the kitchen. And hormonally, sometimes rest is exactly what we need.
Kudos on the downward trend!

Yes avocado good. And dinner was good too (although I had it after a nap at 1:45 a.m.).

And the rest week around PMS may be what you need. Since I've been tracking my period, I've seen a pattern in my energy levels during that week and once I saw the pattern started easing up during that time just so not to fight what was happening anyway.

And what Julie said.

If your food is good (and you adjust it for non-workout days) that's where most of your progress comes from. I like the lifting because it makes me feel stronger, and the days I get into the cardio it makes me feel good. In the end though it's keeping the food in line that I believe has contributed the most to my weight loss.

And congrats on the loss.

I underestimated how much rest I need hormonally...lol...after this I will surely remember! Thanks...hope I can keep up this trend!!!

Dinner at 1:45am? Yah I have noticed I am definitely low on energy during my period...it's not something I ever thought about...! That's probably because I am the worst woman ever tho...I am always surprised when I get it...lol

Being more on top of my food has been the key for me. I haven't cut down as much on my non workout days...I think I need to rotate and cycle my calories a bit more...that may definitely help me out! I too like feeling strong...it's so good for my head...and the cardio is something I actually look forward to at the end of the day too...it's a stress release and just makes me feel good when I am done.

I decided to reward myself for the downward trend...I went with shoes versus food like I used to! They're not all sexy like...they're functional but kinda cute for work this summer. I have to wear closed toed shoes when I am out with the buses and the kids...so...I got these for fun...I hope they're comfy...:

That's right...I said SHOES...anyone else get a new pair this week???
