So when he comes back from being away sometimes he will stop by the cellar and pick out 2 bottles of really nice french/ aussie wine, and I really like pinot noir and cabernet at the moment... so sometimes I'm having the wine, slobbing out on the sofa and I think, mmm what would be nice with this is a slice of cheese/chocolate insert your own temptation...
Same with me, it's not the alcohol calories that get me, it's what comes after!
Glad to see you're in the challenge, I crapped out in the first challenge--it just dragged on too long--I think four months is great for motivation. Especially with the holidays in there!
Hi there Fang, nice to see a fellow drop out joining this challenge too! I agree four months is enough time to maintain the discipline and motivation, six months is a looonnng time, and there is an added discipline of getting through Xmas and New Year knowing there is a photo call coming up
We're all going to have a lower calorie, and maybe dry New Year's Eve.
Eeekk, I'd better offer up my babysitting services then, to avoid temptation, but it is only one day after all. By the way, thanks Anne for organising this.
Yesterday was a good day nutrition and exercise wise. I cooked some vegetarian chilli, with kidney beans, borlotti beans, lentils, 3 peppers, 1 courgette, 1 eggplant, 2 onions and an apple. the apple was a weird addition but actually quite nice. oh and lots of cumin, oregano, smoked paprika and chilli powder. i put it in tortilla wraps with cheese on top and baked it for the kids, they loved it, normally they are not big on beans.
Exercise was 2 rounds of this circuit I borrowed from Crunch Time by Michelle Bridges, the Aussie trainer for the Biggest Loser. Im a sucker for diet/training books and I liked this one.
5 min run around the block
20 steps, fast pace on left leg on outside step, then 20 on the right
20 lunges on each leg
20 pushups
20 shoulder presses (4kg db)
20 squats with 4kg db
20 crunches, straight and with a twist
repeat again, but instead of the run around the block I did some skipping. It was pretty simple, but effective as I still felt a bit sore from Pump on Sunday. some good 3 day DOMS there.
got up at 6am, took the dog for a walk in the rain, didnt want to but felt so much better afterwards. Some mild stress at work, I work part time, 3 days a week, and suddenly my boss has got someone in to do the 2 days Im not there. I would have jumped to have extra work, so now feeling slightly paranoid he wants to get rid of me, as this new guy is a friend of his. oh well, I am not going to stress until I know more.
Dropping in to say hello and best of luck w/ the challenge! By the way, you look sooooo much like one of my dear friends from college. It freaks me out-- in a good way, of course.
I did a circuit class last night, and it was really tough because my aerobic fitness has slipped. There were lots of body weight exercises like squats, step ups, dips, planks, squat thrusts, star jumps, push ups, etc, interspersed with sprints around the sports hall. I was knackered, sweaty and looking like a beetroot, but at least I have something tangible to gauge my fitness by. I also thought if this class burns about 500 calories, thats what it takes to burn off a 100g bar of my favourite chocolate, I think I will lay off the high calorie stuff, knowing how hard it is to take it off, but oh so easy to put it on!
My plan for this challenge is to do 2 weights sessions and 2 circuit classes. This week there has been one 1 ciruit and 1 weight session as I was so sore from Pump on Sunday. So next week I will skip the pump on Sunday and do 2 circuit and 1 Pump and take it from there.

It's funny, but some days when I really don't feel like walking I end up really enjoying myself. Yet, I can still talk myself out of it at times. Sorry about the work stress though. I'm kind of surprised that I miss it (being at school), but I know once I'm back I won't miss the stuff that goes on.
A beautiful day here today, lovely and sunny. Going to a BBQ today, so have already frontloaded with a huge bowl of porridge and berries, and packed my chicken to take, so hopefully I wont get too tempted to be swayed into calorie/chardonnay town.
Took the dog for a walk/jog, didnt feel up to doing weights this morning, but will do the circuit class tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and did well on the exercise and nutrition front
Did a circuit class last night and a Pump class today and I feel well and truly pooped. The circuit had lots of running and cardio stuff, lots of star jumps, spotty dogs (stupid name) squat thrusts etc, so no lifting, just pushups. So my legs felt a little tired, but now they feel heavy and worked. Kinda nice.
Food has been good. Its my birthday next Monday, and DH wants to take me out to dinner with the kids and family. Normally I would say yes, but I dont want to blow my diet, as I find it even harder to get back on track after a day of wine, cake and whatever else. Instead were going to the movies, the kids and DH can have the popcorn, and I'll either eat before I go, or take some carrot/peppers, celery, really annoy everyone with my crunching.

I definitely have that problem. Once I get on the sugar-party ride, I have a lot of trouble getting off. It's easier just to stay off.... But you gotta have some fun on your birthday!
