Thanks!!!!!
Weight stayed the same today, which is FINE with me! I'm still at 6.5# down from May 11 (when I started tracking). Considering my awful plateau almost-month, that's pretty good...
The Body Bugg is hitting me at an average of 2000 kcal burned (usually a LITTLE higher, hit 1900 on my rest day)... I am getting over 10k steps/day which is good to know, and I do think it underestimates my stairmaster workouts, but it's good to know that 1500 kcal is right for me to lose 1#/week. And it does inspire me to move more!

The problem is that I'm having tech problems with it . I have to reach them tomorrow (of course they are closed on the weekend) because instead of downloading all my data, it keeps saying there's no bugg - even when I connect it directly with the USB. About 1 in every 20 attempts works now, which SUCKS. Grrrrrrrrrrr. It worked FINE Saturday morning, and then Sat afternoon when I hooked it up, it started giving me trouble .

Anyway...
Today: Stairmaster 50 min. I was gonna do an hour but I quit when my friend was done and ready to leave . Planning on doing some active mall-walking with DD this afternoon, so I won't be a slug, at least.

Dinner is going to be a challenge. Family-style (huge platter) Italian food... I LOVE it, but it's super high-cal and high sodium, so I need to go in with a plan and stick to it. I love the numbers / trend on the scale, so I have to focus on that.

Thanks Celeste and Thanks for the hamster Sid!!!

Dinner's over - I did it!!!
Ate a TON of salad with dressing on the side (had lettuce, apples, a few candied walnuts, a little gorgonzola cheese and dried cranberries - but I picked a lot of the cheese out cuz I don't love it). Ate about 1/2 cup pasta with meat sauce and that was it. No bread, no deep-fried breaded lemon chicken, no dessert.

By my guesstimate I actually have about 100 kcal left and I am actually hungry, but not sure if I'll eat or not since I couldn't weigh/measure dinner. My macros are screwy for the day, so maybe some protein? I'm craving salty crunchy, but might just be cuz I'm already high-ish carb for the day...

Walked almost 14,000 steps today too!

Ya'll are so nice and encouraging - it means a lot!!!
I'm feeling good today... I ate some tuna before bed last night since I was hungry and my protein sucked for the day, and I'm proud of that too cuz what I wanted was salty / crunchy, but I knew I'd overeat and just get hungrier if I did that.

This morning, I must not have done too badly with food / sodium (I was afraid the sauce was so salty that I might've been up anyway) - I was down another 1/2#. Makes me officially 10# from goal as of today . Again, I DO know it may bounce and even go up a little (especially as AF approaches at the end of the month), but... that friggin' plateau was really upsetting me so I'm just glad I busted down. Yay!!!

Yep, AF messes up those trends. I used to be very consistent (up a couple of pounds before, down a couple of pounds after) but for some reason lately I can't count on that. Being 10 pounds from goal is a great thing!

Bysti, I've been meaning to ask you....what Karate school do you go to? There are a couple guys who come to my gym who must own a karate school. They come to the gym in bright shiny Hummers with the name of the gym on the side of the Hummers. Do you know who I mean? I can't think of the name of the school, though.

I was never good at trending with AF... maybe I will be now that I'm more aware? Mostly I notice my eating goes to crap (especially that evening snack time) and then I go "D'oh!" and realize it's PMS!

You're thinking of Asian Sun - I see those big bright Hummers all over the place! Nah, not my style . We have a quiet little storefront right on 91 near my home, nothing like that big-time operation... I've been in a school like that where it's a big business and tons of kids and students who seem to progress pretty quickly through the belt-ranks (although I don't have personal experience with that specific school so shouldn't make assumptions)... we do seem to get a lot of people coming to our school who started out there ...

I have to eat at Panera today (lunch meeting, I didn't get to pick). Went to their website and SHEESH! Not just the high-cal issue (which is pretty bad), but the SODIUM. Bleh!!! I finally picked the new strawberry salad w/ chicken - 300 kcal and 29g protein and "only" 480 mg sodium. I refuse to bloat myself out of my good downward weight trend! Most of their sandwiches and soups are more than half my daily sodium allottment!

Bytsi CONGRATULATIONS on everything!! It was not long ago that you would not have been able to behave at that dinner party. I am so very impressed with the changes you have made since may timeframe and so happy for you. Reading this log daily gives me a smile. I am going to start calling this the "feel good" log.

Well it's good you got a chance to look, since there are things on their menu that seems healthy, but aren't. I'm often surprised by how many calories can be in a broth soup or simple salad. I feel like Cosi and all those fresh home cooked quick food places are like this, though. They try to make something "healthy" and it ends up having so many preservatives and so much salt in it, that it takes away from what could have been a good deal. All so it can be franchised and the same every where you go.

Yeah, Panera is notorious for high sodium and high calories. The Strawberry Salad is very good. I get it without the dressing and it is yummy!!

I usually check menus, but it's been a while since I did Panera, and relatively recently that I've cared about salt. The salad was pretty nice though, and I didn't even eat the yummy wheat baguette with it!

It was probably one of the few reasonable diet-compliant things on the menu...

I dipped my dressing (on the side) but the entire serving of the l/f poppyseed dressing is only 25 kcal anyway...

Finally!!!! Yes... Tech had me completely clear it and install all new firmware... also they told me it's not really AOL compatible (I still sign on through that sometimes) so I do better uploading through internet explorer... If it keeps acting up I will call again, but for now it seems ok.

Today: Stage 6 B1

Rev. Lunge w/ 1 DB on Shoulder: 1x10 @ 12#, 1x10 @ 20#. Will increase again next time.

DB 2-point Row: 1x10 @ 40#, 1x10 @ 50#. 2nd set weight was good.

DB Push Press: 1x8 w/ 30# db's (could NOT get to 10). 1x8 w/ 25# db's. This KILLED me. OMG!!!

Back Ext: No back ext machine, used physioball, sucked...

Incline Rev. Crunch: Did 'em, but... bleh.

Karate - ended up helping teach for a large part of the class while Sensei was busy with a new potential student... minor workout but plenty of NEAT... which was fine since I had already lifted and done 30 min walking / surfing...

Today: scale is the same (whew! - I was scared of a big bounce - still not "confident" but feeling a little better)... I know I have 10# to my original goal weight, but every time I step on the scale and it "clunks" at the higher weight, I smile...

Tmill: 25 min walk 1 / run 1 intervals (at slow-ish 5.2 jog)... 15 min walk at 6 incline...

Ate a little over last night (as I seem to do on lifting days) but luckily no major damage. Only about 150 kcal over, and I hadn't allowed for any "extra" workout calories, so... it's all ok...

Quiet day - lots to do, not super motivated...

The hamster is doing so well!!! Glad to hear of your progress... The food is always the hardest part...now I know what people mean about trying not to overeat when you lift! I've been to Panera too, and looked it all up on the website as well...it's so scary! Just when you think you're being "good" you go home and go...OH MAN!!! Looking it up before I went was probably a good idea...

Keep up the good work!
