Didn't know you were looking for a bike - you're more than welcome to try it out anytime! It's a Trek women's hybrid - slightly more mountain-bikey than road, but a decent all-around type bike... If you want, PM me your # and we can try to find a time -- If nothing else, it'd be nice to finally meet IRL and go for a ride or coffee or something!
Nice job with your measurement numbers! They're in a nice downward trend.... That's what we're all working for right??? I'm looking forward to taking my measurments next week after stage 2, hopefully they'll be in a downward trend too!!!
Bytsi, so much to catch up on! First of all, nice bike—here’s a pic of mine, except much cleaner… 6vm4clr.jpg (At least I think that's it, I've never uploaded a picture before so we'll see how it comes out)
I can’t wait until my little guys are old enough that we can all ride together.
I want to look into that treadmill airdesk thingy. Wonder if they’d work for elliptical? Did you get the actual airdesk or one from somewhere else?
One more thing--I was checking out the bodybugg also. Did you research the different options, etc, and do you know how much the subscription is?
Lots and lots of questions lol!
Celeste

Hi Shell - thanks, and yeah - it's the trend... just wish my weight trend was lower today!

Nice bike Celeste!
I think the airdesk would work for any exercise equipment. It IS a bit wobbly (kinda sways, but not so much that you can't use it!) - and it's a lot less than the $6500 tmill desk I saw -- I got the actual airdesk one from their website. Came quickly too!
As for bodybugg - IT CAME!!!!!
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm slightly bummed about the pricing "option" (or lack of option!) - instead of just being able to do the 1 year for $99 subscription, I had to pay $99 for 3 months and the "setup" (and I get a coaching session by phone which I could not care less about). But hopefully it'll be wonderful... I haven't put it on yet cuz I was just setting up all the computer stuff (and it looks like I should clean it ). I have karate tonight and I would hate to break it before I even get going so I think I'll start fresh with it in the morning .
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
Well, halfway through day 1 of bodybugg. I want the digital display... but I have the wireless reciever at work with me and I can upload from here - I've done it a few times today. It's pretty cool to look and see how many cals I'm burning doing different things (like sitting here typing ). I wonder how many more excuses I can make for getting up and walking around all day?
Still, at about halfway through the day, I'm at 52% of calories burned (for my goal of 2550)... so pretty cool!
No workout today (planned recovery day)... so I knew my activity would be iffy... I did walk a bit at work though. Planned to walk tonight too, but it didn't happen - go too busy with groceries and kid stuff - so that wasn't totally couch-tater, at least.

I didn't use it for food (I like daily plate, very used to it). I ate 1460 kcal today... 45/30/25 (c/p/f). So pretty good... burned 1853 since midnight according to the bugg... (I figure I'll just hit under 2000 burned since it seems to estimate about 1 cal/minute at rest... I may need to adjust that... Lotsa cool charts too, that show exactly when I burned what. Fun!
Wish I knew why it was doing the mini pic that you have to click to see...
Cool. I'll be interested to see how you like it after awhile. I always thought they were cool, but doubt I could get away with wearing it at work. Would be fun tho!
They hide under your sleeve, Jes... you could pull it off. Ummm... unless you have a job that I'm not expecting...
Bytsi--keep us posted. I'm toying with buying a bugg of my own after using it with Leigh initially. It is very geeky and fun. There's another company that makes a similar product called sensewear, I believe... but it is beaucoup dinero!
So glad to hear the BodyBugg finally arrived and looking forward to seeing what you can do with it. Yay on the downward weight trend!
Thanks Karen... no good downward trend now though -- hoping to change that soon!

I have discovered a fun new way to embarrass my daughter - wear the bugg! She thinks I look like I have "some medical problem" with it on - LOL!

Hi Tina... it does hide under regular sleeves - just not under little cap sleeves like I wore today. I saw the sensewear, and the newer bodybugg (out ??? 2008-09?) will be smaller... sensewear is VERY expensive though - I think $600 when I called the company?

Did one hour NEAT treadmill web-surfing this afternoon... now on couch to finish up (I surf but it's still not great to type large volume like this post)... Later!!!
YAY on the bugg! I am so jealous!! How cool!! And I am still incredibly jealous of your treadmill surfing capabilities, yo.
Don't be jealous... you haven't seen my credit card bill

Today: 1 hour SS on stairmaster, HR around 65-70% max. Got good and sweaty and tired (but not exhausted). Posted a thread in Fatloss section, cuz Bugg said I burned under 200 kcal in that hour on the stairmaster. Huh!?!? Is it because my arms don't swing wildly or ??? I KNOW I worked much harder than walking 2 mph when I was surfing, but the Bugg said I burned almost 250 kcal/hour doing that! Harumph!!!
Other than that... I'm trying to stay at 1500kcal on lifting days instead of varying calories, per Leigh's suggestion... I hope I don't have to go any lower, but I might...
Rushing around today, but not enough NEAT - too much driving all over for kid's activities... I did stand instead of sit while watching soccer games though...
Soooo cool about the Bugg...I love the graphs and charties...gonna go bug the hubby about the Bugg!
So funny about your daughter saying you look like you have a "medical condition"! I have a friend who always complained that her mother embarrassed her when we were little...so her mom took to carrying a red clown nose in her purse, and whenever my friend was annoying her mom in public, she'd put the nose on and honk it...usually my friend piped down...it was hilarious tho!!!
Ok, the red nose thing is funny as all heck! Thank goodness I embarrassed my mom as much as she embarrased me. She didn't have to resort to funny little things like that. In fact, I think she pretended she didn't know me just about as much as I did to her.
Every time I read "One Armed Pushup" I'm impressed all over again. Great workouts Bytsi!

Seriously!!! My sentiments exactly!

True, me too--although since I often end up at my island counter in the kitchen while I catch up on a few logs, I should just start marching in place or something!

Yes, Bytsi, I have to confess, I am extremely jealous over your one armed pushups. I thought we were pushup queens together! (That's what my friend calls me anyway...) But there is NO WAY I can do a one armed pushup!!!! So I am just an admiring courtier, receiving inspiration from afar...

ROTFL!!! I had an amazing mom moment this morning though - DD's playing varsity soccer tournament this weekend (HUGE big deal that she is getting a shot at varsity!!!) and her team as of now is undefeated heading into quarter-finals. I had to leave (have a karate committment, but I'll skip my workout later and go back for finals if they make it) and after I stood in the drenching rain and puddles watching all morning, she gave me a hug before I left. In public. Voluntarily.

Well, don't be THAT impressed. My ROM isn't very good on 'em - it's just something I'm trying to improve at. Some of them are more like 1-arm hiccups than pushups

Celeste, I bet marching in place would be a great alternative to the tmill, considering how slowly I stroll anyway... And see above about the pushups - not that impressive - yet!
Gotta head out, no time to catch up on logs, but I'll try to do it later if I can... if DD makes the finals, I won't be back on all day and won't get a workout either, but it's worth it . Ya know - 20 years ago, I don't think I EVER pictured myself as a soccer mom .
