All I can really say in my defense is that I'm really not a morning person...so, sometimes on weekend, I go from the breakfast table to the gym. It's just easier, and I don't have to add any additional workout clothes to the laundry later in the day...

Swiss ball Glute Ham Raise Sets 1-3 BW/12
These are getting easier. Soon I'll transition to single leg.

Seated Good Mornings Sets 1-3 65/10
I did 65# again! This time I sat on the Swiss ball because I don't have a bench at home. Last time I sat on the hearth and it wasn't too bad, but I decided higher would be better. I got the bar positioned then had my 10 year old load a 10 pound weight on each end. I didn't think it would be safe to load it and then try to get the bar over my head. My rests were really just sitting still with the bar still on my shoulders. I didn't want to have to go through the whole unloading and loading of the weights 3 times!

Bulgarian Split Squats Sets 1-3 BW/10
I used the Swiss ball to rest my rear foot on. I wedged the ball in between the couch and recliner so it wasn't going anywhere. I think I'm getting better at these and it shouldn't be too long before I can add some weight. These are tough to keep everything balanced and my upper body completely vertical. My rear knee almost touches the floor, so I know I'm going low enough.

Planks Sets 1-2 60s

Hi Pauline!
I love seated good mornings! I was just thinking about how I was missing doing them.
You are looking good in here. I haven't been by in awhile, so I wanted to stop in and say hello.

Looking great in here Pauline! Just wanted to comment on the BSS - for me it's the balancing that is the most difficult. I really struggle sometimes. Looks like you're getting it though! WTG!!!

Nice job, Pauline!

Jammies at the gym - too cool! Heck - with some of the styles nowadays, how can you even really tell????

Yeah, I don't think it matters much these days. Young woman seem to think it is perfectably acceptable to go to the grocery store in their flannels and slippers. I remember going out to breakfast and waiting outside to be seated along with about 5 or 6 20-somethings in their pj's, slippers and robes.

when I was attending UCI a couple of years ago girls were wearing jammies & slippers in the lecture hall - afternoon lectures! Whereas I had already worked a full/early day and was in business clothes. Talk about contrast (not to mention our age differences).

See, now while I'll go to the gym in my pjs, I'm not going to grocery store like that! And I'm always wearing real shoes, not just slippers!

Hey Pauline-

Your workouts look good! I like working out at home too - I'm thinking of quitting the Y. I like working out in my pj's and I don't even wear shoes usually, although I find I need them for stability for my single leg RDL's.

Thanks, Leah! I don't wear shoes either except for planks. Those are killer without shoes!!

The gym requires me to wear shoes, otherwise I wouldn't either.

What about for push-ups? I slide all over if I don't have shoes for push-ups.

I'm OK as long as I'm on the carpet with my feet up against the couch for pushups since I can't do too many at once.

Dumbbell Bench Press on Swiss ball Sets 1-3 13.5e/12
My 2 year old grandson was running around while I was lifting and I didn't want to use the barbell in case I clonked him on the head with it or he decided to grab it and hang on it in the middle of a set.

Dumbbell Swing (imitation of cable pull through) Sets 1-3 33.5/10
Lost Dog posted videos of the med ball slam on someone's log and one of them had a swing slam combo. The swing looked a lot like a cable pull through which is really great for my glutes and hammies, so I decided to try it. Felt pretty much the same as the cable and I think 33.5# was a good starting place.

Shoulder Scaption with Shrug Sets 1-3 8e/10

OK, my last exercise was going to be a Seated Russian Twist. I was feeling a little shaky after doing the first 3 exercises (I cannot get used to evening exercise) so I went upstairs to grab a workout snack. On my way back down the stairs, I tripped and managed to bounce down a couple of the fortunately carpeted stairs on my tailbone. Nothing serious but there was no sitting to do a Russian twist with 25# going on tonight!

I weighed my dumbbell handles and they are 3.5# each so that adds even more odd weight amounts.

I've got this mental image of your grandson hanging from the barbell while you bench press him!!

Oh be careful with that tailbone! One of my friends actually broke hers a year ago. It did not sound pretty.

Great workouts! I am pretty sure I would fall over if I tried BSS's on a swiss ball.

Ouch on the tailbone.
Like Tracey, I totally got a image of you bench pressing with the 2 year old hanging off the bar.

I was thinking of you this morning when I did my BSS's--no WAY I could do them on a swiss ball!

Me too! And then of you rolling off the ball b/c he pulled the BB off balance...good idea to use the DBs!

You know, even though I always workout at home, I always do get dressed first. Of course, to be fair, sometimes I sleep in one of the tanks that I use for workouts.

When I was having a really hard time getting to the gym early a few years ago, I tried getting dressed the night before (shorts and socks only, with pj top)--kinda yuck, now that I think about it!

I work out in just about anything... or next to nothing. LOL And, always, always barefoot (unless running). And I shop in jammie pants and slippers or flip flops.

Not that bad, really. Who's gonna know this as long as you shower after the gym and throw the stuff you were wearing straight into the laundry basket .

LOL--I see people doing that all the time, but I have to be fully "dressed" to go out in public.

I've done that before. I used to go in to work early (gym at the plant) and would wake up in the middle of the night, get dressed, then nap on the couch until it was time to go.

Reverse Chest Fly Sets 1-3 8e/12

Woodchop Low to High with dumbbell Sets 1-3 23.5/8

Swiss Ball Crunch Set 1 10/12 Sets 2-3 25#/12

Med Ball V ups Sets 1-3 8/10

That's it for today. I was pretty proud of myself to drag that workout out of myself at 11 PM. At least I didn't fall down the stairs this time. The reason it was so late was we got into a game of Napoleonic Wars. I was Austria with Prussia allied and I routed Napoleon in Picardy!!!
