Nothing like taking a few months off!! DS 3 who has Spina Bifida had to have surgery on both of his feet, so my focus has been on the family the past 8 weeks. He's doing great and will get his final set of casts off on the 12th of August!! Overall I have done good maintaining the loss I had achieved. I'm considering joining the challenge, but not 100% sure. Working on tightening the eats, getting back into the deficit, increasing NEAT, and then eventually back to the gym. Been back a day or two catching up with everyone else's logs. I see a lot of great progress being made, seems everyone is trying the OPT with Leigh. I am tempted to make the purchase, but don't have the funds right now. Maybe once I get these medical bills paid down!!
Track nutrition, food by weight, to stay in a caloric deficit with macros around 40/30/30 p/c/f.
Increase NEAT, get back to regular cardio 30-50min 5Xweek, 2 weight sessions/week.
Goals
Weight 130
Waist 29 or smaller
Create a body that is ready to increase in strength.
A little more detail. I haven't been to the gym in a number of weeks (8 I think) due to DS having surgery. Now that we're finishing up with his recovery, I can get back to focusing on my health.
My measurements seemed a bit off last night. Then this morning I woke up to TOM. Waist has been measuring between 31.5 and 32 for quite some time. I went through and reviewed my log from before and noticed my height was 5'3" on my very first post. No, I haven't grown! Sometimes I say 5'3" and sometimes 5'4" because I actually measure 5'3.75".
I have been floating around my lowest weight of the year 149-151lbs even during my time "off". I tried during this time to eat at maintenance level for my decreased activity level. Now it's time to ramp up the activity!! I purchased Leigh's FLTS and am reading through that. I very well may change "my plan" to OPT when I'm finished, I am not sure it is going to be very different. Leigh definately is more specific about numbers, which is great!
I am trying not to have unrealistic expectations and realize I may not get back to the gym for a couple more weeks so I will be doing a bodyweight work out at home at first. Right now I think it will be easier to control what my nutritional intake is than increasing my workouts so I'm going to be trying to do as much NEAT and SS cardio. If that doesn't seem to produce the fatloss after a few weeks then I will re-evaluate.
I am very excited to be a part of the challenge. I missed the first one, but enjoyed following a long with everyone's journey very much. I can't say I'm in it to win it, the support I think will help me reach my goals.
Somehow I have pulled it out this week. Overall calories have been spot on, macros still need a bit of work. DS finally got out of his casts, and we're building up his strength and endurance. Haven't gotten myself back into the gym yet, increasing my NEAT is all I've been able to do. I have my plan for next week all set out, which includes two lifting sessions.
Boy, can I tell I haven't been lifting regularly! Even though I wasn't lifting the way I had been, I have a bad case of DOM! Was going to try and fit in another session tonight, but I am going to delay until Friday. I had an idea that jumping right into 4 sessions wouldn't happen the first week. We'll get all muscle groups worked through once this week, then go for twice next week!
Yesterday's eats were:
Cals 1256
Prot 119g 38%
Carb 150g 48%
Fat 19g 13%
Ugh! Not so good on the macros. Gotta keep working at it!
Sometimes it's really hard to hit the right macros and I figure it's fine if I'm within 3% on all. It usually evens out to go the other way the next day if they're off.
Thanks ladies! Tonight is "date night"! DH and I will head to the gym after dinner for our work out and then spend some time hanging out in the pool/hot tub/sauna. I'm really looking forward to it, even though I am still dealing with some DOM, it's much better than yesterday!

You forgot the "S" in DOMS! I figured that was the most important part since I am sure you are S=Sore! LOL!
I have been driving myself crazy. It doesn't seem I have the ability to incorporate lifting sessions and maintain the families crazy schedule along with all of the other daily duties that would likely fall under NEAT. So, I staying in the challenge, but my plan of attack is going to focus on my nutrition and my NEAT. DH and I are taking two college courses this semester and with all of the activites for the 2DS's, I am running myself completely ragged trying to incorporate "workouts". It disappoints me greatly, but I am trying not to take this as a failure, just a change of plan. I am doubtful that I will be albe to lose the fat without the work outs, but I'm going to try. The hectic schedule hasn't been helping with the food. Throughout the week when my days have more structure I am doing well, it's the weekends that are killing me. So, now fewer goals to focus on, we'll hopefully see the numbers change for the better....
