Whew!!! Good thing you emailed Leigh. Isn't it wonderful to have a trainer there for times like these. I am screwing up with my diet too. Not eating too much but too little. After reading this, I think I need to confess my issues to my own trainer so I can get the help that I need as well.

Karla........You really should. I have this thing of being embarrassed to admit that I need help when it comes to staying the course for weightloss. As I told Leigh, if you were to give me any goal (not weightloss related) I'd tackle it and see it through until it is finished. But, weightloss has always been the one thing that never see to the end.....well, until this time!

Thanks, Pauline........I just have to tell myself to email her at the start of things and not wait 3 days. I just don't want to come across as the "needy client." Stupid, I know but that's the type of thing I worry about.

My luck isn't improving with being healthy........lol I just got back from the ER because I can't take this sore throat, swollen glands, runny nose anymore.......Well, what I thought was allergies is a full blown sinus infection so now I'm on antibiotics.....I'm sure the allergies are what caused it, but I guess I just couldn't get a hold on them with just Claritin.
The good thing is..........I still did my cardio workout! I bought some music this week from Amazon's mp3 site to download to my iPod and I was going to use it, darn it! It was great! If you like pop/club type music for cardio look up Ultra 2008......It's a great mix!
Today's workout:
45 mins. on Treadmill @ 3.5% incline
2 mins. jogging/2 mins. walking aiming for 70%-80%
HR 146 (~ 78%)
5 min. warm-up @ 3.0mph @ 3.5% incline
5 min. cool-down @ 2.5mph @ 0% incline
Calories Burned: 470
Some standing IT Band Stretches, calf stretches and quad stretches

Today's Workout:
3 Rounds of 15 reps of each exercise w/ a 2 minute rest between rounds. I followed this up with my Flexibility/Repair work.
Wide Stance Deadlift - 35/15, 35/15, 35/15
Bent Over Dumbbell Rows - 15(e)/15, 15(e)/15, 10(e)/15
Incline Dumbbell Press Unilaterally - 15(e)/15, 10(e)/15, 10(e)/15
Plank Progressions - 1:30 total made up of 30 secs. regular, lifting right & left leg 15 secs. each & right & left arm 15 secs. each (PR), 1:00 total made up of 30 secs. regular; 15 secs. right leg up; 15 secs. left leg up, 1:00 total made up of 30secs. regular; 15 secs. right leg up; 15 secs. left leg up
Alternating Hammer Curls - 10(e)/15, 10(e)/15, 10(e)/15
Leg Up Crunches - 10/15, 15/15, 15/15 (PR)
I did as best I could dealing with the sinus infection and had to drop the weight for the deadlifts and dumbbell presses.......but, who would have thought that my core work would improve since I can't breathe......lol I'll take it. The only bad thing is I'm feeling it in my lower back so I must have done something wrong......nothing major just a little achy.

Not sure if I deserve "hero" status......maybe stubborn???
I was wondering why no one was posting all day as I wasn't getting my emails about my buddies posting to the journals I subscribe to.......Well, duh! I cleared my cookies so I wasn't logged in! Therefore, no emails......

You poor girl! I can't believe you are working out so hard with a sinus infection?!? I think you've conquered your inability to continue on a weight loss plan!
That's dedication, and you DO deserve hero status!

I get sinus infections all the time ... and they almost always start with a mild sniffle or an allergy. Glad you got on some abx ... and hope you are feeling better ASAP!!
Leigh actually "yelled" at me for not "using" her more ... think of it as not being needy, but rather her doing what you are paying her for!! Plus, the more you tell her, the more she can help you!!

My back is just fine today, Tracey. I just think it is the planks. It isn't anything that I was worried about, just achy. Funny, I started feeling sore abs last evening from my workout on Sunday.......well, today.......YOWZA.......2 day delayed DOMS from planks!!! LOL

Yep, Julie.........I got yelled at a few weeks ago for the same thing, but have to work through the "telling her more" thing. I am contacting her more frequently, though. Funny, I bet some trainers are happy when they DON'T hear from you......Leigh expects it. Gotta love that!
Yesterday was a rest day and today is cardio.........so, I'll be back this evening to post my TM workout!!!

Glad to hear your back is fine today!! I noticed that when I was doing planks sometimes my back would hurt if my middle was "sinking" while I was holding the movement.
It definately helps to tell Leigh everything you can - sometimes I'm sure some of the stuff I put in my weekly log is totally irrelevant, but I make sure I give her as much feedback, thoughts, feelings and info as I can - I figure it gives her some insight into ME and that can only be a good thing!!!

Yep........I know that's what I did. I really wanted to see improvement on my time so I'm sure toward the end of each round of planks that I didn't have the best of form.

I LOL'd at this because I swear I write Leigh a book each Sunday when I check-in. I agree that it's a good thing to do and it can only allow her to know me and my habits better.
I'm off to workout!

Today's Workout:
Resistance B - 3 Rounds of 15 Reps. each w/ 2 mins. between each round
Single Leg Bridge - 15 on each leg X 3
Seated Hip Adduction on Bowflex - 10(e)/15 X 3
Face Pulls - 25(e)/15 (PR), 30(e)/15, 30(e)/15 (PR)
Dumbbell Unilateral Fly on the Swiss ball - 10(e)/15 X 3
Diagonal Woodchop - 15 each side X 3
Trunk Extension - 15 X 3
Lying Tricep Extensions - 10(e)/15 X3
Followed by flexibility/repair work - My knee/IT Band feels so much better. I can't believe that I was in so much pain 3 weeks ago. I'm also wondering if getting a pair of crosstrainers is helping with my injury vs. using my Saucony Grid Iron running shoes for the resistance workouts. Regardless of what it is, I'm much happier to know that I can workout and not feel anything but DOMS the next day.
I soooooooooo didn't want to workout today. But, at 5:45 I just decided I HAVE TO!!! Guess what? After the first set of single leg bridges and Rage Against the Machine......I was pumped and ready to go. It's also great being able to breathe freely out of your nose without having to have a tissue right beside you......LOL AND......It's also awesome to sweat like crazy but not be clammy due to a fever......LOL
Guess what else?.........I got butt cramps right in the middle of the 2nd round of dumbbell flies on the Swiss ball.......That has to mean I'm activating my glutes. Right? Tell me! Tell me! Tell me! No wonder Leigh has me doing these! Gotta love that! I'm such a dork for being happy about butt cramps!
