Wow - some amazing workouts in here! Your trainer knows how to kick some serious butt. Sweet!
Thanks Bree!

Christina, what weight are you using for the lat pulldowns? I can't do any number of pullups yet. Just 1 or 2.
Cool on using my workouts. They're a lot of fun. Although, I can't take credit for coming up with any of them.
For lat pulldowns, it depends on the quantity and type; I'm doing anywhere between 87.5-112 for wide grip (112 if small sets); for reverse grip, I go anywhere between 112 and 127. I found what really helped me with pullups and chinups was negatives and the assisted pullup machine. It really gives you a better feel (in my opinion) of the actual exercise when compared to the pulldowns.

Agreed! March it is.
Well, I took the weekend off. Yesterday I was going to take a short nap and ended up sleeping for 4 hours in the afternoon. Apparently I was tired! Today I'm much more awake, but still taking the day off. I'll get back into it all Monday.
Food's been ok for the weekend. I'm still struggling with the whole lack of appetite thing and I know my calories are pretty low because of it. But I think I'm finally getting used to the meds--no lightheadedness and I was actually able to make sleep though the night last night (even after a 4 hour nap earlier in the day!).
I posted my update in the challenge thread. I still need to get that in here...Maybe I'll do that now...
March:
Feb. was a tough month for me. I'm hoping things start looking up in March.
Some extra thoughts...Feburary was a high-stress month for me. Towards the end, I really started struggling with it and with food. I think I've got a grip on it now. And I'm going to focus on moving forward.
While numbers may not have shown significant changes (or changes I'd have liked to have seen), I did see pretty big leaps in strength. I went from struggling to pushpress 75lbs to getting 90lbs up and I think I might be able to do more. And my deadlifts really improved as well. I'm happy about both of those things.
One thing that I'd really like to work on this month is my aerobic endurance. Running, jumping, pretty much anything that really gets my heartrate up also really tires me out quickly. I've always blamed it on asthma, which is part of it, but I'm certain that if I dedicate some time and effort to this area, I'd be able to do so much more.
You had a great month! Great progress. The strength numbers are great measures, too. I read somewhere that if you are getting stronger in lifts, the weight being loss should be mostly fat.
Thanks Bree. It sure didn't feel like a great month. I'm glad it's over and I can move forward.
So, I didn't get back to the gym yesterday. I left work with a pounding headache. Instead, I ate a nice salad, relaxed a bit, and played with the puppy. Today I brought my jump rope to the office, so, the plan is to jump on the parking garage roof for a while, then go to the gym on my way home for Strength I A.
Superset (2 times--it was supposed to be 3):
15 Bulgarian Split Squats--I did these with a single arm shoulder press w/12lb kb--what was I thinking?
15 Setups

I did another quick cardio-room workout today...
3 rounds of
20 sit-ups
10 pushups
1 minute jumping rope.
This is the first time I've jumped rope in a very long time. A few things:
1. I was able to jump for a minute without messing up--once
2. How is it that I used to be able to jump rope for hours on end? It's hard!

15 Setups
Alternating Set (2x)
12 situps
10 back extensions
Stretching.
My legs are sore today! Wow!
Wait - WHICH program is this from??? I know it's in here somewhere, but I'm not seeing it quickly/easily and I'm lazy today
So, I had the ultimate period moment last night. I went to the store to get tampons, walked past the ice cream and realized that not only did they have rice dream, but they also had mint carob chip rice dream. Yum! So I bought it. I ate the 1/2 cup serving amount and nothing more. But still. I haven't done that in a very long time.
Also, I think I pinched a nerve or something in my neck/shoulder. It hurts and when I hold my head and arm in a certain way, it gets all tingly. I'm not too happy about that.
I was planning on getting in a workout today, but with my neck/shoulder, I think I'll skip it and maybe just do some running or something like that. We'll see.
Hope your neck feels better soon. I often "tweak" my neck to varying degrees, and the best cure I've found is rest, ice, and light massage... My chiropractor used to do deep (painful) massage to get the muscle to release, but... ow!

Ugh, I had a neck problem for years, chiros couldn't help at all. It's so annoying. (crossing fingers) Hasn't happened since I've been working on my posture though--I'm hoping I cured myself.
The only thing that used to help me is forcing myself to stretch. My chiro said that it's the best thing to do so that all of the other muscles don't get excited and start tensing up too.
Anyway, I hope you feel better. : )

Thanks ladies. It feels a bit better today. I took some advil, and that seems to be helping. I can move my head further and the tingling feeling is less--not gone though.
March is not starting off with a bang for me. Last night I had to take my pup to the vet. She's not able to keep anything down. They did x-rays and it looks like her small intestine might be a little enlarged. So, she's spending the day with the vet for observation. We're hoping that we can avoid surgery. I'm in wait and see mode for now.

I know you're not entirely pleased by this, but I gotta say way to go on only eating the one serving. (This is coming from someone who got sick and combined with other major stresses in life lately has opened the stress/emotional eating food bag, dived in, and swum around for more than a month now.)
Yeah...the little bugger ate part of her pink blanket. Needless to say she had some blockage, which can require surgery if it's really bad. For two days, she wasn't able to keep any food down, but eventually she vomitted up part of the blanket and passed the rest.

I'm glad I only ate the one serving. And since then I've had one more. More than anything, I thought it was kind of funny, because I'm really not a PMS eater at all, and I don't really gp for sweats. So I must have really really wanted it. It was pretty good! Usually when I'm stressing or emotional, I go for the bag of chips. If I'd have seen those before the Rice Dream, I could have been in big trouble!

Anne, it is funny now. Not so much Thursday or Friday though. The little stinker is almost back to normal. She's still getting tired really quickly and easily, but it's not so bad.
Neck still isn't at 100%. I'm a little dissapointed about that. But I'll give it another day.
And then, if it's not better - OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!!
(is that what you meant? )
Ha! Something like that.
I'm going crazy because the next workout on my list is upper body. I guess if it's not 100% tomorrow, I'll skip upper body day and move onto lower body day, but it's not the same! I like having a schedule, and it's being thrown. I didn't work out at all over the weekend, which I'm still a little antsy about.
