Still no strep, I hope? I seem to be a strep magnet so I'll have to done my biowarfare suit before I step in here again. LOL
I used to always get strep as a teen. One time I was faking a sore throat because I didn't want to go to school. My mom knew I was faking and was so pissed at me that she said she was taking me to the doctor (because back in them thar days, they gave you a shot for strep), thinking I would go to school.
Turns out I really did have strep! Talk about karma...
Thanks everyone! It's been a heck of a week already and I haven't had a chance to really respond to anyone. Sorry...
Diane and Shelly, I somehow managed to avoid strep this time around! I'm pretty happy about that because I always get it.
Anyway, I was going to workout today at lunch, but a co-worker suggested we go to the Cabi Outlet Store, so I did that instead and bought way too much stuff. It was well worth it. I'm debating stopping off at the gym on my way home to get something done. We'll see what time I manage to leave the office...
There's a Cabi outlet store??? As in Cabi Online clothing??? Really?? There is a sweater I REALLY want!!
YES! There are apparently 5 stores nation-wide and one is in Castle Rock, Co; and, it's an outlet. They're behind one season, and sell the overstocks, and have wonderful sales! In the store right now they have the fall collection. There's so much more that I want that I didn't get yesterday. Love it! I'd like to say that it's a birthday present to me, but I already did that with my training sessions. Nope, this was just me wanting stuff.

Thanks! Deadlifts are one of my favorite things to do. They always make me feel strong.

Thanks!
So, I left work pretty early yesterday, but still didn't make it to the gym. I was so hungry! So instead, I went home and cooked dinner (steak salad w/carmelized onions-yum). I've got kettlebells tonight with my trainer, so that'll kick my butt I'm sure. Tonight, I'm also going to buy more sessions to get me through Feb. It'll only be once a week, but that's ok. I'm really liking learning new stuff and have all kinds of ideas on how to incorporate a lot of it into my usual workouts.
Christina, your deadlifts are great! I wanna be your workout partner just so I can challenge myself to get where you are.

You'll just have to keep working on being the example for her. I've not seen that you're huge in any way, but you are very strong.

Thanks Karen! You're so sweet.
Last night I worked out with my trainer. It was arms night, and by the time we finished, I though I'd never be able to lift my arms again. They've never felt so heavy! Here's what we did
Supersets no rest between exercises, about 90 seconds rest between sets.
3x:
8 Chin Up (these quickly became assisted chin ups!)
6 Assisted Pull Ups
3x
10 Kettlebell Flies each side
10 Dumbbell Plank Rows each side
between the 2nd and 3rd set, I ran the stairs 10 times (came to about 5 flights)
3x
10 Kettlebell Rows (pretty much 1 arm bent over rows) each side
5 Walking Planks--get in a pushup position, walk hands onto a medicine ball, over to a step, to another step, onto another ball and back again
2x
5 pushups w/feet on a medicine ball (yup, it rolls...)
12 Tricep Dips
2x
Oblique twists w/kettlebell--v-up position (knees bent though) and twist holding a kettlebell in one hand for 10 twists, switch hands for 10 more
Scale this morning: 133.8. So, I'm continuing a downward trend. I'm pretty happy about that!
Oh, and I scheduled 3 more training sessions-one a week for the rest of Feb.
I just went down to the little cardio room for some HIIT. Did about 15 minutes total:
1 minute warmup
90 seconds @ 7
2 minutes @ 3.5
75 seconds @ 7
2 minutes @ 3.5
60 seconds @ 7
2 minutes @ 3.5
75 seconds @ 7
and a nice cool down.
And, just because it's fun? Or maybe because we talked a bit about it yesterday, I threw in two rounds of the ever-dreaded body weight matrix. Add in some stretching, and there it is.
Tomorrow is my birthday, so I'll go to the gym early for my Friday strength workout, and follow it up with hanging out with my sister for relaxing, maybe a movie, and the dinner with BF and the kid. We're planning on snowboarding Saturday, then I have an HOA meeting Sunday--I'm considering skipping it to do some more snowboarding though.
Wow - you are kicking ass! I had a dream last night that I was doing a kettlebell workout in my backyard in the summer. It was glorious.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great weekend fellow Aquarius.
Thanks!
I love the kettlebells!

Thanks everyone. It was, well, interesting...and didn't go exactly as I planned. But, despite it's ups and downs, we ended up having a pretty good time. No snowboarding. BF had an extremely strange accident Thursday night which resulted in having a car parked on his ankle! I don't know how to describe it. Surprisingly, he's ok--nothing's broken. He managed to come out of it with a skinned ankle, some swelling, and a pulled hamstring. So, we took it easy all weekend: saw Coraline in 3D!, took naps, and ate a wonderfully delicious brownie with caramel goo.
I managed to get a workout in Saturday; I meant to go yesterday, but by then the rest of the weekend excitement caught up with me and I was just beat.
Saturday's workout--Strength I, workout D from NROL Chin Ups:
6
1-negative on the way down
6
1-negative on the way down
11 Lat Pulldowns
The 11 pulldowns were written as 10-12 chinups, but, well, nope. Not after the chinups and negatives.
My arms were pretty spent by the time I got to the superset, so the weight on the bench press isn't as good as I'd have liked. But, all in all, it was good.
Today, if I don't take BF to the doc (he's thinking about it because the skinned ankle is pretty deep and the swelling's not going down), I'll do another strength workout because I missed yesterday.
