I just did the same thing...packed a bunch of veggies, grapes, cantaloupe, yogurt, and cottage cheese in a cooler. Still don't know about breakfasts, hopefully I can convince dh to stop at a grocery store and we'll pick up some high protein-ish cereal. We have cold meat and bread for sandwiches, and going out for ONE meal (dinner) should be okay. Good luck and have lots of fun camping!
Yeah, the meetings were a bit much. Camping was fun! And I managed to hit 91% in my food compliance.

Have fun camping this weekend. Hope your weather is good.
It was raining when we first got there, but cleared out nicely.

Thanks! The pizza is really good. I'm having another for lunch today (leftovers, but still, should be good in the toaster oven).

Camping was such a great time. There's a lot to tell since last Friday morning! I guess I'll start with Friday. Things started off pretty dull--more meetings at work. But, half way through the day I got an email saying that I got tickets for Obama's acceptance speach on Thursday. I'm still super-excited about it. Anyway, I picked up my tickets Friday night, pushing our camping trip back a day--no big deal and totally worth it! By the time we got the tickets, registered them, ate, and packed, it was already dark, and we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us. So, we decided to stay in town, relax, and get up in the morning and go.

Saturday morning, we loaded up the car and headed up the mountain. We camped just outside of Rocky Mountain National Forest (so that we could bring the dog), about 5 miles outside of the town of Estes Park (think the hotel from the Shining). It's beautiful up there. Anyway, we got there and it was raining, so we stopped in town for some lunch. I had my "good" meal, and then let myself have sweat potato fries, dropping my compliance for the day a bit. Yum! After lunch, we went to the camp site, and set up. The boys went to the park to play, and I took the dog for a hike. We hiked up into RMNF a bit, past a small lake. Really pretty. I didn't bring the camera, because I hadn't planned being gone that long. Big mistake. Then there was dinner and the camp fire. I had two marshmellows and the kid had a lot more!

Sunday morning, we got up for breakfast, packed everything back up and headed into RMNF. We ended up seeing a ton of elk and a moose. The moose is really rare, so it was a real treat. We had a picnic lunch at Grand Lake, then headed home. It was such a great time.

When we got back to the city, we could tell that the DNC was starting to roll in. We stopped for dinner right near where they set up Tent Univeristy for the protests. The atmosphere in that area is usually relaxed and layed-back. Not yesterday evening! It was crazy and the usual people there seems so much more stresses (can I just say that I'm so glad that they moved Tent University from it's original spot 1/2 mile from my house).

This morning, there was a huge police presence downtown, which is to be expected for the rest of the week. The cool thing, though, is that there are bike stations set up all around the city so that people can borrow bikes for free for the day. It really seemed to be limiting the number of cars out and about.

Long story short, we had a great weekend. Didn't workout, although I did walk up and down a mountain a couple of time, so that counts for something.

I know, right! I almost peed my pants when I found out I got to go. I've been giddy and excited ever since. I'm taking off work for the afternoon on Thursday to head down to the stadium. We're going to participate in some of the other activities before Obama speaks that day.

Thanks Bytsi!

Last night I did part of FL-I A before BF twisted his wrist and we had to go. I'll finish the last little bit up tonight. I had to re-arrange some of the exercises because of crowding and proximity of equipment. So, here's what I did...
Squats: 3 sets 15 @ 85lbs
Bent Over Row: 2 sets 15 @ 65lbs, 1 set 15 @ 60lbs. (subbed these for the seated cable rows because, quite frankly, I like these better.)
Supine Hip extension: 2 sets 15 w/added leg bending, 1 set 15 regular-these hurt! Crazy.
Swiss Ball Crunch: 3 sets 15 w/10lbs plate.

Tonight I'll finish with db push presses (I really hate these) and Rotational Lunges. Oh, and pushups. I've really been slacking on the pushups and need to get back into the swing of things.

Good things for yesterday: All the excitment and buzz around Denver. It's really fun to be here right now! (Even though the protest group moved out of my neighborhood, I'm apparently still on the jail bus route...last night the jail bus flew down the street about 2 blocks from me blaring sirens and almost hitting BF on his way home). About 100 people were arrested last night; two had minor injuries, including a police office. Not too bad (better than a sporting event riot!).
I really enjoyed Michelle Obama's speach last night and still can't wait until Thursday! I may also try to get in to see Biden, but I doubt I'll be able to get a ticket.

sounds like you had a wonderful camping trip - and there is always room for sweet potato fries!!

a lot of craziness in your neck of the woods - glad you're enjoying it!! love the free bikes - i've seen that several metropolitan areas have started to do this - maybe it will become a permanent program in denver?

Christina, it looks like you're doing pretty well here. It took me a couple of days to read your log since I haven't kept up all the time, but I read it all rather than hit and miss like I've been doing with everyone these last 8 months. Two things stuck out at me, though, and that's that you're consistent with your food compliance and I love how you post the good things for the day . You're making great progress!

I love sweet potato fries.
Craziness, yes and a whole lot of fun. I love the bike idea thing too. I hope it sticks. It really does seem like there's a lot less cars on the road these last couple of days. Although, I don't know if it's because of the bikes or because people left town for the week. Either way, it's nice. the last two days have been so much clearer than usual here. Our brown cloud isn't quite as brown.

Thanks! Food has always been a struggle for me, so I've been trying to really focus on it. I'm glad to hear that it seems consistent.
Listing out good things for the day has really started changing my outlook on life. I'm a lot happier as a person from changing that focus from the negative to the positive.

That said, Good thing for today:
Work's been really stressful lately. We've got a client in town and she's not the easiest person to deal with. Today, finally, I put my foot down. They (client and co-workers) wanted me to rework a document again. There's no time for that and I'm not taking it home with me, so I said no. They all just looked at me dumbfounded. I further explained that I really don't have time to do it. The owner of the company agreed that it wasn't where my focus needed to be right now. It felt really good to just say no and even better to be backed by the big boss man. (I am, right now, going on my 9-1/2th hour in the conference room, clearly losing focus...)

I'm beat, and don't think that I'm going to get to the gym. Maybe I'll do bw lunges and pushups as a replacement at home. Yup, I think that's what I'll do.

Have a great time Thursday.

Umm can I be jealous too?

Cuz if you want, we can trade because the RNC starts here next week. And to make it more annoying, my daily commute will probably be affected.

I've been watching and listening to it all too. I was so impressed with Michelle Obama Monday night. And it seemed like last night everyone was more reved up. I'm still trying to get a ticket for tonight--it doesn't look like it'll happen. But Thursday I'm taking a half day at work and heading to the stadium early.

No thanks on trading places. My commute was slightly affected, but only to the point that I had to ride my bike a bit further to catch the train. Nothing major.

I was reading the list of things I can bring with me to the acceptance speach; apparently, I'm allowed a camera. So, Friday morning I should have teeny tiny pictures!

I'd like to say that I finished off my FL-I workout from Monday last night, but after being in the office 9-1/2 hours, then sitting on the train for 30 minutes working, I had a beer (bringing my food compliance down, but I really didn't think about my macros while I was drinking my beer) with dinner and called it a night. Maybe tonight? Either way, tomorrow morning/early afternoon, I'll do B1...

Wow--just catching up here. Looks like you had a great trip and a busy busy week! My sister is from Boulder and we love to camp and hike out there--your pictures make me wish I was there!

How did your food end up during the camping trip? Even with the fries, I bet you still kept pretty on.
