Happy Labor Day.
I posted earlier, but it's not here. If another post shows up later, don't blame me.

You should fill out the "questionnaire" up in the injuries forum and ask about this. Don't let it get bad like I did. Julie's the best.

Depending on goals, you can have plans that go in three or four week bursts. I redo every 3 weeks or so. It's rarely hard to make it 3, unless I wrote something totally lame.
Do you actually have P90X? It's the first informercial fitness product that actually looks good. I have a friend who bought it, but a month or more later, still hasn't started it. "I need to wait for _____." Only blank is pretty vague. I don't know enough about it to know what his problem is. People have to want it, you know?

It's a double chocolate devil's food cake with Snicker's bars melted down all through the cake with homemade buttery goodness frosting. Oh, tomorrow is going to be a bad, bad, bad, bad food day for me!
Hope your weekend is going great!

I will definitely pick your brain if Power Training stays on my "curiosity" list. Your workouts have been looking so great and I like that'd be able to pick the actual exercises... like making my own program, but still having a program made for me, lol... best of both worlds!

Hey Lost dog!
I didn't think my shoulder was bad enough to post in the injury forum, but maybe you're right, maybe I will go over there next so it doesn't get worse.
As for programs, I will have to sit and think about it a bit. I have a couple goals and i have trouble concentrating on only one at a time. Like I was to do fatloss, but I don't want to lose the strength I've worked to hard to attain. And then of course my ultimate goals are to get stronger... to increase my numbers on all my lifts, increase the amount of pushups I can do, and eventually be able to do a pull up or chin up. I know I should do the fatloss first and then work on strength, but Bri seems to think that since I don't have a LOT of fat to lose, that I can do strength and the fat will almost take care of itself. We shall see...
I do not yet have P90X, but it is the only infomercial I have really thought might be a real workout. Instantblue has done it so I may pick her brain a little more. If I decide to go that route I will let you know.
As for my dad... I don't really know the detailsof what he does. He's a project manager for some big project and he's in France again as we "speak". Other than that, I don't know specifics...

Just a thought for you from an older woman's perspective
A couple of girlfriends have mentioned coming across pictures of themselves from their 20's. They both were shocked at how damn good they looked in their pics, because they both remember themselves as being much heavier. Their perception of their bodies was out of alignment with reality. In hindsight, they really regretted the burden they put on themselves because it's so hard to be objective.
Don't take for granted what you have right now. You look freakin great already. Enjoy it now....before the wrinkles set in
Great idea on the class too, sounds like fun!

Thanks CeeBee... you're probably right. I don't hate how I look now, I'm content with it, but I really want to feel comfortable and happy with it... which is not terribly far off. I think that's why I let myself slack off a bit with the food and stuff sometimes. I think "well, I'm not bad off, I'm fairly lean I don't have to worry about this _______" The blank being a handful of M+Ms or piece of cheesecake, etc. It's always something because I do subconsciously cut myself slack since I don't have a lot of fat to lose.
The wrinkles comment had me giggling though
OK, today's workout:
Not breaking any records, but it was decent

A2: Lat pulldowns:

1x12 w/ 70lbs

3x12 w/ BW and 2 sec hold at top
B2: DB shoulder press:
2x12 w/ 17.5s
1x10 w/ 17.5s
C1: Cable rows:
1x12 w/ 50
1x12 w/ 60
1x10 w/ 60
C2: Ball crunches:
3x12 w/ BW and slow up, slow lower, 2 sec hold at top

Here's a funny wrinkles story for you, Kara....
Years ago when I was your age, my boyfriend (ex-fiancee) and I went to the local coffee shop where his mom had coffee/toast every morning. At the time, she was in her mid-forties. We got there, and she had this line down the side of her face and I said "Sandy, what happened to your face!?" She replied loudly "That's a sleep line and don't worry....when you're my age you will get them, too!!" OH NO, I thought....that looks TERRIBLE! Sleep lines?? Huh? WTH? Guess what.....I get 'em. I still tease her about it to this day on the rare occasion that I see her. I'll just never forget that morning. Too funny.

Kara, I have P90X, too, and you're welcome to borrow it if you'd like to look at it and see if you'd even like it.
Editing to say I have most of it as I gave away and/or sold some of the materials and DVDs that I never used/liked.

Oh My Goodness! That's hysterical, but I'm sure a little embarrassing at the time. I have not noticed my mom with sleep lines, and she'll be 50 in Decemeber.... so maybe there's hope for me yet? We shall see, lol.
Btw Jane, I hope you don't mind a copy-cat but I am going to try to copy what you are doing with the calorie deficit. I crunched my numbers and using the calculations from NROL4W I should be eating 1650 for fat loss on days I do nothing... that seems a bit high. I will shoot for that but if I can get by with less and not feel bonked out I will do that. I put my food into Fitday for tomorrow (first time I have ever done it ahead of time!) and without the dinner logged yet, I'm at 1228. This should give me a decent calorie budget for dinner, which I have planned as chicken and veggie stirfry. I decided to go pedal-to-the-medal with the fat loss thing. I will stay on Bri's fat loss program I was already doing. I'm half done, so I have about 3 more weeks of it, which will be three weeks of eating at a deficit. I want to get this done! Then I can go back to having fun and lifting heavy... which I definitely miss!!

Ask your mom about sleep lines! LOL!
It may take some hit and miss with the calories. If you are really strict on the 1650 for a week and you have a loss, then you've hit it right. If not, then you'll want to keep lowering until you have a loss for the week. I haven't had a problem bonking, like some report, but everyone is different. I've been ok still lifting 3x a week, though I have cut back on cardio. Good luck!!

I also have been trying to talk myself into focusing on fat loss instead of strength. I love getting stronger and setting those PR's! Good luck......I have to keep telling myself that getting stronger will always be there when I am done with fat loss.

Yay, Kara, you can do it! I completely understand where you were "at"....when you are basically happy with your body and wanting to tweak a little bit. It's can be hard to get off the fence when you are so close
I'm excited for you and your new goals!
LOL, on the sleep lines!

Thanks Jane! I'm hoping to be as strict as possible with it so I never have to do it again, lol. I hate tracking calories! I was good today at lunch though. I brought a turkey wrap but since everyone was going out I went with them... I microwaved my wrap before we left and wrapped it in foil and ate that instead of the very greasy disgusting looking fried chicken and fries they all got. There was also an ice cream or gelato place and I so badly wanted some cuz it was HOT out today... but I said no! So my willpower is in the right place for now... which a very good sign!

I know... I can't wait to get back to it! I feel like my strength has really decreased over the past couple months. But once i'm back to it, I'm goin crazy! Can't wait!

Wow that is so nice of you to offer! I missed your post last night because I think I was posting at the same time. I may very well take you up on that offer if it still stands when I'm done with the fatloss thing. I would need to get a chin-up bar though right? I think that's a requirement...
