Your body is a work of art. Behold it in all its glory, and look at it in fascination as it continues to respond to you. Go ahead hate the bottoms but love the bottom that's in them.
Yes my Polar's pink too. I totally love it (although if they had had a red one, that would have been what I got).
Enjoyed your room cleaning stories. Didn't sound harsh to me at all. Sounds like a mom with a plan.

Sounds like the battles with my youngest. She and her mom battled constantly about her room. I just insisted that she bring stuff that could rot out and refused to clean anything that wasn't in the hamper.

Geesh, thank you. I needed to hear that positivity today. Bless you.
Well, I think it is super cool that yours is pink, too. Kind of a neat little connection.

LOL. That's one way of dealing with it. My room was always messy growing up, but this was out of control.
Well, no workout again today. My plan was to get my daughter's room done and finish up the rest of my house and that just didn't seem to happen. I did talk a nice walk around the cul-de-sac and that felt good.
I think i am in a little funk and feeling crunch time with school starting. I had a little list of things I wanted to get done and it just seems to keep growing. I go out of town next Monday morning for work and don't get back until Tuesday evening, so the kids are going to go stay with my friend and her family. We have company this weekend. My brother just made it home safely from a 6 month tour in Kirjistan (and I know I spelled that wrong) and he is coming in Sunday morning for a visit. Ahhh..... It seems like so often we have nothing going on and then BAM! it is all crammed into one weekend.
I am very tempted to take Friday off of work. I still need to take the kiddos shopping for some school things, too. These are the days I wish I didn't do the full time gig, but if I didn't I'd go nutso.
I have done well with food the past 2 days, so the lack of workouts shouldn't kill me. It is the lack of stress relief that is getting to me. LOL

Hi, Tom! Nice to "meet" you. I have been reading your log for a while now, but I think this is the first time we've "spoke". This is something I'm thinking about. I have not stuck with NROL all year because I have not lost a pound when I've done it. So far, I have not been able to keep my food inline while doing it, as inspiring as MissJane is. I'm seriously considering Leigh's program. I am on an "off" week due to a lot of anticipating activity later this week - 28 hrs of dance workshops! - and have been reading Leigh's book. I may switch and pick that up next week, as my eating was out of control last week doing NROL. This is after losing 4 lbs over the two weeks prior by keeping my food in check and doing more moderate exercise.

I struggle with the scale during TOM too. I don't even get on it the week prior or during. No weigh in for me this week!

Man, with three kids, I have been there before - again and again! My two little ones are 3 and 6. We ultimately solved the problem by creating a toy closet with a lock. They are only allowed to have so much stuff out at one time. They can have the entire upstairs floor covered in toys within a week so that you can't even walk around. It's just too much for them to pick up after themselves when they make that kind of mess.
My 17 year old is a whole 'nother story. She's a pig. I worry about carpet being ruined and bugs in her room. No matter how many times I tell her no food in the bedroom, she manages to have some in there and leave it for weeks unless I am diligent about policing her room.

Tonight I conquer the Girl's room. Hers is just messy, but there is probably 100 stuffed animals laying around in there - so some decisions are going to have to be made. I blame the movie Toy Story for them not wanting to ever get rid of their toys. Luckily, hers should take less than an hour and that is another reason I went into the disaster room, first.

OH Ginny.... I feel your pain. My son Noah is 9 and he sounds a LOT like your son in terms of his cleanliness. I can completely clean out his room (he shares it with his 7 yo brother) and within a week it could be right back to its previous condition. He's awful about having food in there... the dog is in heaven whenever she gets in there. Speaking of bugs, he freaked out last night because he saw a huge ant crawl across his bed, so then he wouldn't sleep in it. He agreed to sleep in his bed in his sleeping bag though... and today he WILL be helping me finish clean it out. Oy.
How did your daughter's room go? LOL at the Toy Story reference... I would get rid of SO much stuff if only my HUSBAND didn't have the compulsion to hold on to EVERYTHING!

Ging, you're doing great. You know it's normal to go through funks, when you're not losing weight but are losing interest in the whole healthy eating/workout thing. Just ackowledge it for what it is - a hiccup - and ride it out. Once you get through this hectic week or two, you'll have more time to focus back on yourself.

Good thing to know. I should probably do the same, instead of torturing myself.

The closet is a great idea. I think I am getting a handle on things. We shall see.

Well, I started her room but I didn't get it completed. After an hour of sorting Barbie doll clothes, Baby doll clothes, puzzle pieces, costumes and costume accessories, I gave up for the night. LOL I'll finish it tonight.

Ah, thank you Norah! I know and a couple of days not going to the gym, isn't going to erase what I have done. I'm riding it out and feel better today. Thank you.
Yes, I am feeling much better today. I had forgotten that now Andrew is off on Wednesday and Thursdays, so I will have some help and that takes some of the pressure off of me.
I do plan on getting to the gym this evening, because I think my stress level needs a good sweat and I'll feel better. Then, I will head home and get Makenna's room done.
So, there was a little slight break through with the stray kitties last night and it was with the little gray striped one. He actually started to come to me. He didn't let me pet him, but he walked close and then sat down and looked at me. LOL I walked outside later last night and he was under my porch, so maybe he can sense that I want to help him.

I've got a crazy work week going on -- working at all hours of the day and night -- so who knows what my workouts will be either. Same with food. I'm trying, but it's very hard when you are up for almost 24 hours at a time! I was logging in Fitday and was like "is this today or tomorrow"? LOL! But, I figure a few days off here and there won't affect the big picture. I think sometimes it's actually a good thing. I'm looking forward to a week break after 12 weeks of Power Training.
I was over in Jill's log talking about Oly lifting and she mentioned that there's a great Oly lifting club in Columbus. Do you know anything about it?? I have such an interest in trying it, but don't want to try without someone watching/coaching me.
Keep on keeping on, Ginger!!!

Thanks, Jane.
I've never heard of a Oly lifting club here, but it is something that definitely sparks my interest, as well. My trainer had me do a couple of things and I told him then that it is something I would like to try to get good at, but I don't think he took me seriously.
A workout to log. I had a weird dream last night that I had forgotten how to squat, so I had that on my mind today. Nothing mind blowing, but it did feel good to squat again.
BB Squats - 60 second rest between sets on everything
WU 45X10
65X10
75X10
65X10
DB Straight legged Deadlift
20eX15, 20eX15, 20eX10
Push ups
12
10
7
8
10
Abs
reverse crunch with 8lb medicine ball
8X25, 8X25
frog crunch
8X25, 8X25
Got on the step mill and did 18 minutes and then did the eliptical for 18 minutes
Got home and finished Makenna's room. I feel relieved to have that done. Now it is time to shower and head to bed.
