That is AWESOME that you're getting all that stuff tested. Does your gym do that for you? Very cool!

Also, I'm not sure how I missed this, but I just caught that you went off TNT. There is no way I could do the low carb thing, myself. I can't give up fruit!!

No, it isn't through my gym. I am actually going to another place. I am excited and nervous for the results, LOL.
TNT and I didn't get along too well. I am just going to chalk it up to the fact that I don't do well without my carbs, instead of beating myself up about it.

So, I think LoriAnne is going to head this way in a couple of weeks and we are both going to go get our testing done together. We will also have an hour session with my trainer, for a good 'ol butt kicking and a (hopefully)a Girls night. Woo hoo. Something to look forward to.

I cannot wait to come see you in a couple weeks and it will rock being able to go through the testing together and then partner up for an ol'fashion butt whipping from your trainer! It makes me giggle that I'm looking as forward to the workout and testing as I am to our Girls' night!
My, how life has changed, huh?

Ginger, I wanted to chime in with everyone else and tell you that you look fantastic in your photos and you've made so much progress.

As far as TNT, I am considering whether it would be worthwhile to read. Did you find any of the recipes to be good? (I have no intention of following any low carb plan because I can't live with that type of plan forever, but I do intend to do as Karla suggested--complex carbs and lower in fat.)

Oh, I hope you and LoriAnne do get the Girls night--those are so much fun !

I can't wait, either. We will get some great information from the testing, that will allow us to tweak diets, etc to meet our individual needs. I am just happy that you will be going with me and we can make a day of it.

Hi Karen,
Thanks so much for the compliment. Honestly, I don't the book is that great of a read, to be honest and I think if you check out the recipe area here, I think some of the recipes are there. I just didn't care for the way it was written, it seemed gimmicky to me. So, unless you get it for a great deal (I know I paid over $20 for it) I wouldn't spend the money.
Friday evening was cardio, abs and calves. A good, good workout.
Ahh, we were out of town for the weekend and it was nice. I didn't do as horrible with eating, but I did drink a little too much on Saturday. I did stick to vodka/diet tonic water, so I am a little impressed with that.
Saturday and Sunday were off days.
Yesterday was a cardio day.
Today is legs (I think) and a little more cardio. I do plan on getting some calves in this evening.

Hello!
Yesterday we actually did a back day, instead of legs and it was a good decision. On Monday, I joined in on leg day with my gym friend and ended up bowing out of it. She is much, much stronger than I in that area and it just wasn't feeling right. She is actually much stronger than I really plan on being and lifts really heavy. But, she has also been working with our trainer for over a year, so she has progressed a lot more than I. Anyways, she offered and I should have went with my gut, which was telling me hell no, but I thought I would try. Needless to say, after the 2nd set, I was O-U-T.

My Deadlift form was getting a little koo-koo, so he dropped my weight by 20 lbs and they were beautiful. Never in my life would I have thought I would be describing a DL that way, but you’ll have that. It's amazing what 20 lbs can do to you. They felt good, looked good and my rear hurts like the dickens, so I am chalking it up to………..Mission Accomplished.
Deadlifts
115X10, 115X10, 115X10, 115X10
Bent Over Rows
30X10e, 35X10e, 35X10e
Seated Rows
70X10, 70X10, 70X10
Reverse-grip Chest Pulls
70X10, 70X10, 70X10
Lat pulldowns
70X10, 70X10, 70X10
I then did 30 minutes on the elliptical and did intervals.
Then it was Abs & Calves time! My gym friend and I have been trying to do these together at least a couple of times a week, because we both need help in these areas. We are currently doing 5 sets, but during the abs – we choose 2 different ab exercises to do in 1 set. So, by the time we are done we have done 10 different ab exercises.
Standing Calf Raise
110X15, 110X15, 130X15, 130X15, 150X15
Kneeling Calf raise w/25lb plate
25X20, 25X20, 25X20, 25X20, 25X30
Butterfly kicks: BWx15
Reverse crunches w/10 lb ball: 10X15 (2 sets)
Russian Twist w/10lb ball: 10X15
Regular crunches w/20 lbs: 20X20
Sit up w/ball pass off (12 lb ball): 20 (2 sets)
Bicycles: BWx20
Plank: 60 sec hold
Side planks: 15e

Tonight will be some cardio and maybe something else. Not sure.

I need to get out and read up on some logs. I am out of the loop, again. *sigh*

That's why good form > heavy weights. You'll get much more benefit from a controlled lift with good form at a lower weight than an out of control lift with crappy form at a heavier weight.

Hi Tom! I agree 100% and that was the #1 reason for doing that.

Thanks, Bytsi. At least we can be different on this board, huh? It almost makes me want a tshirt that says "I love beautiful dead lifts"......

Exactly. I keep thinking I am going to find more time, somewhere. I'll just keep hoping.

Didn't go to the gym this morning. I wasn't feeling it, so at 5:00 I reset my alarm and snuggled back up, for some extra snoozing. After my leg workout tonight, I was a little grateful that I made that decision.

Legs
WU Leg Press (not sure of the weight) 2 sets of 12

Supersets (again, we stayed the same in weight and focused on good form. I am good on form for the back squats and for the 1st set of box squats and then it tends to go to hell)
Box Squats
95X10, 95X8, 95X10, 95X8
Back Squats
95X10, 95X10, 95X10, 95X10

Hack Squats (these sucked. Bad.)
125X10, 125X8
Straight-legged DLs
40eX10, 40eX10
Jump Squats (10 w/25 lb plate, 10 BW)
25X10 - BWX10, 25X10 - BWX10

That was it for the weight training and I was a little bummed. I was ready for a little more. So, I did 30 dreaded minutes on the step mill on the fat burning program and 15 minutes on the eliptical.
My legs are going to hurt tomorrow.
Yesterday was a tough, tough, food day for me. Today was better and tomorrow will be even better.
I am still trying to get off a few pounds that found me when I was out of town this past weekend. I drank quite a few vodka/diet tonic waters and it all went to hell from there. I had the best pizza in the world, one of our old favorites from back home and I think it went straight to my ass, so I am hoping it doesn't stick around for long.
