Thanks, Karen! I plan on getting that book out this weekend and looking at Plan A, to see what I can do.

You are too kind. It definitely helps noticing some muscles here and there! Love you girl!

LOL, Tracey! It's the little things some days that keep me motivated and I just knew a couple of you would appreciate that story.

Well, my legs are finally feeling normal. LOL I went to the gym last night and did the stairs for 30 minutes and really paid attention to my HR and tried really hard to not get all hog wild on it. I had planned on doing some sprint intervals that my trainer has approved, but the track was pretty packed and with it being the 1st time not on a treadmill, I waited.
So, I got my butt in there this morning. Did 12 minutes of warmups on the steps and then did the sprints. It is 20 sprints, 10 laps (9 laps is a mile) and I did it in 11 minutes, not great but not bad. You basically sprint the straight parts and walk the curves in the tracks. There are 2 curves and 2 straight parts. Felt good and I definitely want to do that a couple of times per week. I am still tweaking my cardio, to try to get it to be as productive as possible. Half of the time, my cardio is stress-relief related and I am not focusing as much on my THR and just going balls to the wall. Need to work on that and I will.

WAY cool on squatting more than the "cool Dude" at the gym and with good form. One of the trainers at my Corporate Gym told me he'd much rather see someone squat with good form (like mine) and the appropriate weight than load up the bar and do quarter squats because of their ego.

Down with goober guys.
Hit the gym Saturday for some cardio before my class that I am taking right now.
This morning was leg day.
WU-Leg extensions
Supersets
Squats – 10X115, 10X115, 10X115
DB Lunges – 10eX20, 10X20, 10X20
Hack Squats – 10X135, 10X135, 10X135
Supersets
Straight-legged DLs – 10X70, 10X70, 10X70
I did 2 different calf machines that I have never done and I didn’t ask what they were called, nor did I see all the weight he had on these. All I know is that they sucked and they hurt. I am too lazy to go finding the name of them, so I’ll describe as best as my brain allows.
Seated calf raises?, there are pads above my knees and you lift up. How’s that?
3 sets of 15 with at least 45 lbs, at that particular point, I didn’t want to know.
In between, there were jump squats to be done, holding a 25 lb plate. 3 sets of 15
Then, back to the calves.
Also seated, but in this one there is a bad behind you and you push back and then do the raises. They also suck.
3 sets of 15
Lots of stretching in hopes of not walking funny later, but I don’t see that helping.
After all of the above complaining, I’d say it was another great workout that will result in more results.
So this is day 2 of TNT for me. Yesterday was a little rough and I was definitely a grouch by the end of the day. Hopefully, today will go better.
Last night I did some light cardio, after doing some reps of push ups and some various shoulder and chest work. It was an ADD workout and I just kind of bounced around and worked to fatigue.

Hi Ginger-

So you decided to start TNT! Drink tons of water and don't load yourself up on salty foods and foods with nitrates if you're not used to it. I had a headache the whole second week. Once I fixed these problems I feel fine. Today is day 16 for me.
Also, make the meatballs from the book - they totally kick ass!
I hope it gives you great results!

Alright!!! Sounds like your trainer and my trainer are related. Yeeeeooowwwwch!! My legs and ass are generally sore 4 of the 7 days of any given week. Funny how I missed my training sessions for a week now and have no DOMS. Hmmmmm.....

Let me add my congrats to you on beating out the goober in the squat rack. I know it isn't really about that but.... Who am I kidding? It is SOOOO about that.

Hi Leah! Yep, I started it and I made the decision to stick with the lower sodium, less processed stuff for the same reason you mentioned above. I hope my body adjusts pretty quickly. I will most definitely make those meatballs.

Hi Karla!
Yes, I am getting pretty good at dealing with DOMs and also being able to get in my workouts around them (or in spite of them). I keep making myself get up and walk around about every 45 minutes or so, hoping that will help.
If the guy wasn't a goober, it wouldn't be about that but because he is, it is. LOL

Ginger, did you get the answers to your questions back in my log? I probably should have cross-posted them over here for you, too!

Here's today's menu:

Bfast - scrambled eggs with cheese and onions
snack - protein shake
Lunch - smoked turkey sausage and sauerkraut
snack - almonds and some raw red peppers strips
Dinner - almond crusted chicken breast with crushed tomatoes and mozz cheese (like chicken parm), steamed broccoli

Ginger, your progress photos are fantastic! I am surprised your measurements have not been more dramatic because the visual is VERY dramatic!

Now I am kicking myself for not taking pics in January (I did not take them until March) because my stats have changed relatively little overall since then. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised by photos though.

Stick with it! Thanks for the compliments. I have a harder time (as I think we all do) seeing the results, but I feel them. I'll bet you;ll see a difference from your March pics in no time!!
I guess as mortifying as posting those 1st pics were, it is paying off slightly, LOL.

I went and did a little cardio last night, not much. I definitely have some DOMS going on, so in spite of that and the fact that I had to stay up and watch the finale of the Biggest Loser, I skipped the gym this morning and I feel pretty good about that decision. Normally, I would obsess a little.

Were you as excited as I was when Bernie took the $100G??? And I'm so glad a "girl" won, although I gotta say I was routing for the underdog (Kelly)...
