Leah, I think it's great that you're going to enter a figure competition! I agree with the others' posts--it's jealousy or insecurity on people's parts that causes them to put others down. So go for YOUR dreams no matter what others (might) say!

Thanks for the encouragement Anne. You would do great on a motorcycle, I'm sure!

Tom you are totally right! I have my first posing lesson on Monday morning, so I'll probably post some pics of my poses after that.

Thanks Ginger! I barely recognized you not blond anymore! You look gorgeous.

Today's workout:

Kettlebell windmills
20/4ea
20/4ea
20/4ea
20/4ea

Overhead lunges
25/8ea
25/8ea
25/8ea
25/8ea

Push ups
BW/8
BW/8
BW/8
BW/6

Side plank w/row
30/8ea
30/8ea
30/8ea
30/8ea

I had some trouble getting into this workout and I just felt generally blah today. At lunch I tried to go to the post office but I was just a minute or two too late and she had closed the window for lunch. I was holding back tears, which seemed like a major over-reaction. As I walked out of the post office I saw some co-workers I don't particularly like coming out of a restaurant and I pretended not to see them. Walking back to the plant, of course they honked at me a bunch of times and I was so pissed it was all I could do not to flip them the bird. Since my emotions seem a bit overwraught, I'm going to relax this evening and soak in the tub and basically do nothing.

Sorry you had a rough day... I've had days like that - I want to cry even though I know there's no "good" reason... Hope the soak helped - and your pics look WONDERFUL!!!

Leah, sorry to hear about the bad day. I hope you feel better soon. I know this is only my opinion, but I think it's wonderful that you made a decision to have the tub soak and do nothing rather than eat or drink a bunch of stuff that you'd regret later. Your progress pics are great and I'm so excited for you that you're doing the figure competition!

Hi. I thought of you today when my new Athleta catalog showed up. When I was oogling over all their boots, I was thinking about my bank account. LOL
Their clothes are the BOMB!

You look awesome!

And I just have to reply to this, because I had a very similar incident today and I was a mess. Blame the hormones!

Thanks Anne! It really took me about half of last weekend to calm down and I've been a bit grouchy this week too. But today I feel much better.

Hey Bytsi - I am supposed to be on the lookout for pushing myself too hard and getting to a breaking point, so I'm trying to be careful. This week I think I did a bit better at knowing when to push and when to rest.

Hey Ginger-

Thanks Chloe! I'm 5'9". The posing coach said that I'm nice and tall - as though being tall is something I did to get ready for the comp. It made me laugh.

Hey Julie! I've been hitting the Calgon quite a bit this week - I love soaks in the tub.

So this week I found a lady to make my competition suits and gave her a deposit, met with the posing coach, did some practicing and took some pics, and did my lifting, went to martial arts twice and tanned a couple times. It was pretty rushed!

We are preparing for our first test in martial arts and the instructors have run through it with us a couple times. I know we know all the stuff since the first test isn't too bad, but we'll probably be nervous and we need to do everything "with intensity." Right now I don't have a whole lot of intensity left after lifting in the morning and working all day and not eating much. This week's diet is staying the same (1350 cals / BW protein) and then Leigh said we will switch to some calorie and carb cycling, so I'm praying the day of the test will be a higher cal/carb day.

Shawn is working this weekend which means I can relax, nap, cook, and take care of some chores. I've been to the store this morning and I'm making a rump roast stewed in Penn Brewery Oktoberfest for dinner. Of course, the portion is a bit on the small side, but I can deal with that.

Here's some of my first posing attempts:

Those crazy shoes have such a great slimming effect! I've been trying to walk around the house in them as much as possible because I read that you should seem as comfortable as if you were in your bare feet when you're on stage. Yeah right!

I just noticed my poor kitty is in the background with demon eyes!

The rest of today's plan is: nap, stretch, short run, stretch again, shower, make my roast, relax ... I'm excited.
