Thanks Bytsi! I really like the flat-outs, but I think I'm in the stage of deprivation where everything tastes really really good. I had trouble restraining myself with cauliflower.

Hi Tracey - that's a bummer. I know a lot of people are sensitive to that.

Hey Anne-
I think you're right - often I do like the things I make myself better than what is offered out or at events.

Thanks Celeste! Unfortunately, I sometimes think Shawn liked the girl he met six and a half years ago better who weighed 200 lbs and went out to wing night with him every week and baked cheesecakes frequently.

We had a few issues about my eating this week. He said he can't help it, he loves me, and seeing me this hungry makes him really upset. I think Leigh would have wanted me to do a refeed week by now, except my vacation is coming up in two weeks and I wanted to do it then.
BTW - Here are my photos side by side from early June to the last one on 7/27. I am down 15 lbs from beginning to end. I feel like I am closer and I love the way my upper body and abs look, but there is still work to do and I am trying to stay determined and focused.
So where did this week even go? I feel like I lost it somehow. I had a really hard time staying on track, although I am happy that I didn't binge. It is getting really tough to look at food, touch food, prepare my meals, etc because I am so tempted. Shawn is working today and tomorrow, so I am going to just relax and get to the grocery store and be prepared for next week. I already took a nice walk and did my stretching this morning.
Shawn is trying to make some changes in his life and we were talking about some of the strategies I use to keep myself on track. I was trying to explain that you have to keep your reasons for the change in your mind and maybe in some tangible form to keep yourself from giving in to the desire for momentary gratification. I told him about my "before" picture I keep in my desk drawer at work and some stuff like that. I was thinking about it later and it struck me that many of my motivating thoughts or images are very negative and I would like to develop some positive ones as well.
So far, I took a brand new picture of myself taken last Sunday to stick on my picture board at work. I love how I look in it - I'm wearing a tank top and my arms and shoulders look awesome. I have been looking at that to tell myself, hey your on a roll, you're looking great, keep it going.
In terms of mental images I bring up during tough times:
1. There is a lady I play tennis with that I had not seen since the last season. The first match I saw her at, she looked fantastic. I wouldn't have said she looked bad or heavy before, but she had gotten herself really ripped and I was so impressed with her transformation. She also seemed so much more confident, flirting with men at the bar, etc.
2. I went to Thai class last night and I wore shorts, which was good because the A/C was off and it was 94 in there. We practiced a combo where you basically had to run towards the mirror and pretend to punch yourself in the face. Now normally, running towards myself in a mirror in shorts would not have made me too happy. But last night I could see my muscles and I thought my legs don't look half bad! Yeah!
I should really get myself together for the grocery store. Here's what I'm making this week:
Tonight: enchilada lasagne from men's health
Sunday: roasted bbq brisket w/onions, potatoes, and carrots - I set this up as 10 servings which will hopefully be decent sized
Monday: rachel ray seared scallops and corn with arugula and tomato salad - cut about half the olive oil out, but it should still be tasty
Tuesday: rachel ray satay noodles w/yummy peanut sauce and chicken
Wednesday: frittata w/gruyere chicken sausage, potatoes, and kale
Thursday and Friday: some exciting leftover concoctions!
