med band/12 50/12
md/12 50/12
md/10 50/6 + 45/6
wide grip pull-up supersetted w/dumbbell chek press, 60 sec rest
lg band/12 15's/12
lg band/12 10's/12
lg band/12 10's/12
towel biceps curl
10's/10
5's/12
5's/12
upper-body russian twist
BW/12ea
BW/12ea
BW/12ea
I enjoyed this workout, but after Lou spends so long telling you how bicep curls are pointless, I feel weird doing them. Also, I realized I don't like isolation type exercises anymore because I have to use weak, pathetic weights.
Today:
160.0 25% BF
Food:
Breakfast: 1 oz almonds, leftover spaghetti squash
Morning snack: several slices of turkey
Lunch: leftover meatballs & spaghetti squash
Afternoon snack: salad w/tuna, cheddar, tomatoes and ranch
Pre/post workout shake: 2 scoops choc powder & water
After workout snack: leftover chicken & roasted broccoli medley
Dinner: I'm making the roasted chicken w/butternut squash from the book. I feel like I have already had enough to eat for the day, but I'll probably at least try it. I hate putting hot food straight in the fridge without eating any of it fresh.
Today's workout:
Hyp II A2
Barbell reverse-grip bent over row supersetted w/barbell bench press, 30 sec rest
45/25 45/25
50/25 50/25
Wide-grip cable seated row supersetted w/dumbbell incline bench press w/palms facing each other, 30 sec rest
60/25 12's/25
70/25 15's/25
Dip - Since I can't dip too well, let alone for 25 reps, I subbed a dip between two benches with my feet resting on one. It was still pathetic!
BW/10
BW/10
BW/7 - That was all I had in me.
Swiss ball crunch
15/12
15/12
15/12
My arms are so fried I could barely drink my shake. I can't believe my dipping ability is so sad. That is one goal I have for the program - to increase the number I can do. I think I will do the two benches version for all the rep ranges because it allows me to get a lot more range of motion.
Happy to report my head is feeling well today! There were a few days last week when I was starting to get really depressed thinking TNT was not going to work for me because I felt so ill. I feel a lot more positive about it today. We'll see how this week goes.
And, only two more shifts at H&R Block!!!! Wednesday, April 16th is the first day of the rest of my life.

Today:
161.0 BF 25% - I am thinking I need to use this as a benchmark for hydration. If I can get it to say 24 most days I'll know I am drinking enough water.
Breakfast: shake w/1 scoop vanilla, 2 tbls pb, water, ice
Morning snack: leftover italian sausage w/spinach and feta
Lunch: roasted chicken w/butternut squash and onions - this is so incredibly delicious! The onions carmelized and taste so sweet with the squash and the chicken is so rich. Yum!
Afternoon snack: tuna w/mayo
Dinner: spinach salad w/steak, cheese and ranch dressing
Evening snack: I was thinking of going to the bar to catch the rest of the hockey game with Shawn. It seems to me that there is no reason you can't eat chicken wings on TNT - as long as they are not breaded and have no sugary sauces.
Feeling good today. Just a touch of spinny feeling in my head, but no pain, mentally clear and energetic. Hopefully it lasts!

Thanks Tracey! Today I feel 100% normal. Yeah!!!!!!
I have been entering my food into fitday sporadically to see where I'm at. I looked at some of the reports yesterday and it says I am averaging almost twice as much sodium per day on TNT as before, so I'm really trying to watch this and keep drinking my gallon of water every day.
However, the other interesting thing was that it showed no nutrient deficiencies except Vit D on TNT. Before there was red all over the place on that report. Obviously eating my veggies is good for me!
Today:
160.0 25%BF
Food plan:
Breakfast: shake w/1 scoop vanilla, 2 tbls pb, ice, water
Morning snack: turkey, fresh mozzarella, celery
Lunch: leftover roasted chicken and butternut squash
Afternoon snack: tuna w/mayo
Dinner: spinach salad w/steak, cheese, ranch
Evening snack: I will probably have a Corona light to celebrate finishing up H&R Block! I just have to get through today and then I'm free free free!!!!!!
Tomorrow I'll lift and Thursday is our next martial arts class. This class will also be one-on-one to bring us up to speed. Starting next week, we'll take two group classes per week. We didn't practice at all yet, so I'll have to pester Shawn tonight.

All I can think of is the Pink Panther sequence where Cato attacks Clouseau by surprise, and they proceed to pretty much destroy Clouseau's apartment.

Good workouts. Don't sweat the dips, just keep doing them. They'll get better. Do you have an assisted dip station at your gym? That's how I started them, and I kept reducing the amount of assist each time until I was doing them without.

I can totally see it! When we were there the first time there were people practicing with these sticks and the guy told us, you'll be doing that at home in no time. I think that one will have to be done in the garage or outside.

Ooh I've got lots of plans! Although it looks like the first is to try to cheer up my super depressed boyfriend. They told him he can go back to work in a week and a half, so I am having trouble understanding what the deal is. I think it is just a blow to his ego and being angry at himself for making a mistake.
Besides that, there will be time for more workouts, cooking, motorcycles, martial arts classes, tennis - all my favorite things! Yeah!!!

Hey Brent-
They don't have the assisted dip station, so I was kind of stumped about how I would do these dips. I guess I will just have to work up to more. Since I have never really done dips, it seems like I should improve quickly.
Today:
160.4 BF 24%
Breakfast: protein shake w/1 scoop vanilla, 2 tbls pb, ice, water
Morning snack: 1 can tuna w/mayo, mixed veggies
Lunch: steak salad w/shredded cheese & ranch
Afternoon snack: I'll probably have to save some of lunch, I'm running a little low on food.
Pre/post workout shake: 2.5 scoops strawberry prot, water
Dinner: taco skillet - Yum!
Today's workout will be Hyp II B2

Great log, great progress, and MAN you're strong!
That taco skillet is great isn't it? I've been rushing around and eating plenty of protein and fat, but a little low on veggies. A salad at lunch w/romaine, spinach, peppers is a start, but dinner has been on the run, and I'm missing the fresh broccoli, green beans, asparagus, etc.
I guess I missed it, tell me about your motorcycle(s). Guess you saw that Mrs SInker and I ride...we're off to Myrtle Beach May 10th.

Thanks Sinker!
I find its harder to get the veggies too when you're eating away from home.
I have a 2004 Suzuki Savage 650. Its my first bike and so far I put around 8500 miles on it. I think I'm going to be riding back and forth to work a lot more this year since the A/C in my car is broken and gas is so expensive. Shawn has a 1998 Fat Boy.
We haven't gotten to go on any serious trips yet. I'm jealous about Myrtle Beach! I hope you guys have a wonderful time! Will you ride there or trailer?

Jane every recipe you posted was awesome! I keep waiting for more. I only made the tilapia once and I loved it. The second time I tried the market was out of tilapia. I'm trying again tomorrow. Besides being delicious, its so fast to make!

Mrs Sinker's first bike was almost a Savage, there's just something cool about one big cylinder. Love the Fatboys, too.
We've been to Americade (Lake George, NY), Skyline Drive, Virginia Beach and a couple of overnighters to Gettysburg. We're definitely riding to Myrtle Beach.

Have you tried bench dips? Sit on the floor with your back to a bench. Put your hands on the bench behind you. Press up. Lower your body, and press up and repeat. Put a dumbbell between your thighs or set a plate on your lap. It's not exactly the same, but it works.
Note: This is not a reversed pushup of some kind. There's no need to keep the abs straight. You're basically in a sitting position with your legs out straight.

Those trips sound awesome! Hopefully the weather will be good for the Myrtle Beach trip.

Hey Brent - I never thought of putting my feet on the floor. That should provide more help for the high rep sets.

Hey Tracey - Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful and I am taking the day off so we can ride! I'm excited.
Last night's workout
Hyp II B2
Snatch-grip deads, 6 sets of 3, 90 sec rest
warm-ups: 45/5 95/4 135/3
145/3
155/3
165/3
165/3
165/3
165/3
Superset of dynamic lunge & step-ups, 6 sets of 3, 90 sec rest
95/3ea 35's/3ea
105/3ea 35's/3ea
105/3ea 35's/3ea
105/3ea 35's/3ea
105/3ea 35's/3ea
105/3ea 35's/3ea - This felt so strange to do these single leg exercises with low reps and high weights. On the lunges, I could barely get back up on the last rep!
Incline reverse crunch, 3 set of 12, 60 sec rest
BW/12
BW/12
BW/10
These are so hard! My middle was on fire afterwards. I wasn't even using that much of an incline either. I had my four risers under one end of my step.
Today:
No weight since we stayed at Shawn's and I don't have a scale there.
Breakfast: omelet w/onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese - yum
Morning snack: string cheese, tuna, mixed veggies
Lunch: taco skillet:
Afternoon snack: TBD
Dinner: broiled parmesan tilapia & stir-fry veggies
7:30 Second martial arts class!
