I know from personal experience that quitting smoking is a major accomplishment. People who never smoked cannot know the fits and aches that occur.

It's like little worms crawling under the skin, at least for me it is.

I've been smokefree since Dec 06 also.

I never want to go through that again. I quit smoking 3 times and the last time was the worst. I remember on day 4 sitting on my living room floor bawling my eyes out as I wrapped Christmas presents. It was horrible and I will never start smoking again because that very day I realized how much control my addiction had on my life!

This last time is the 2nd time I successfully quit.

It took me about 50 attempts because I always failed on day 3. That's when it seems to hit the hardest.

I'm going to maintain it this time because it seems to be getting harder and harder to quit if I start up again, not to mention how much my lungs are wanting to collapse when I workout.

I've heard that too, that it gets harder and harder to quit each time. It seems that for most people, days 3-4 are the absoulte worst! I can't believe that I used to workout, then smoke on the way hom from the gym. I have a friend who smokes and she can run a 7-8 minute mile. She did a 5 mile leg of a relay marathon in under 40 minutes. I keep telling her to imagine how fast she'd be if she didn't smoke!

And I forgot to actually say it...

Congratulations on quitting smoking.

Got my hair cut today and my eyebrows waxed. The wax took out a huge chunk of skin between my eyebrows, so now I have a huge gash in my face. Lovely...

Great workout today. Fat Loss Workout A, workout 2. I actually finished it today!!! It took a lot of pushing towards the end, but I did it!

Super sets

Squats 3x15 @ 25
Cable row 3x15 @ 60

Supine Hip Ext 3x15 @ bw
Dumbbell Pushovers 3x15 @ 20

Lunges 3x15 @ bw - my legs were literally shaking
Crunches 3x15 @ bw

I am famished!

I just signed up for this VIP package at the gym. It's $8/month, and I get unlimited tanning and I get to bring as many people as I want with me to workout up to 5 times per month. I am not a big tanning person, but I live in WI and get absolutely NO sun for 8-9 months of the year. It really helps me with SAD. And, my sister and I work opposite shifts so I just called her and asked if she wanted to come with me on the weekend to workout! I left a message, so I hope that she says yes.

The social element is very important to fitness I find. Particularly having someone to go with to the gym - looks like you made a good decision (the 8 bucks being worth it).

Well, I think I've convinced my BF to join the gym. I took him there yesterday, and he decided today that he will join. YAY!

Today was an awesome workout. I don't have my notebook here so I won't post specifics. I did Fat Loss I workout B, #2. So the next workout, I go down to 12 reps.

2 weeks til I start tri training. I'm excited, yet nervous. It's been 4 years since I did a tri. No wait. Make that 5. I still have my medal hanging up in my bedroom. Maybe I should hang it up somewhere so that I will see it every day. I took 2nd place in my age group, so I'm proud of that! I do need to get my workouts entered in my google calendar. I'll make that a goal this week.

One of my friends moved to California in July, and I haven't seen him since then. I posted a few pictures to my Myspace page from over the weekend. He posted a message that he can see I've been working out! That's my first compliment from a non-family member! Woooo hooooo!

My ulitmate goal is to fit in a pair of pants that I have. Simply because I have 5 pairs in different colors and it will increase my wardrobe greatly. I tried them on tonight and I thought they maybe were wearable in public. My bf pointed out that the pockets kinda pouched out. I think I have 5 lbs to go.

Soooooooo, here is my mini-goal. March 10 is a Monday. On that day, I will wear one of those 5 pairs of pants to work. And I will take a picture and post it here.

So, there you have it.

I took a much needed 1/2 day of work today. I really didn't have time to do it, but I had a dr's appointment, so I really had to. I am 30 years old and I've never had my cholesterol tested, so I had that done today too.

The pool at my gym is only 3 lanes wide and it is used every night for the water aerobics classes, so I NEVER get to swim in it. So, this afternoon I went over there and swam 550 yards. Swimming makes me soooooo tired. I could curl up for a nap right now!!!

That's a great mini-goal! You will definitely pull that off. As a side note, I love your avatar, it always makes me smile.

Yay for mini-goals! You will do it! I'm excited for you to have company at the gym... I love working out with other people, even if it's not the same workout. Have fun with the swimming - is that your hardest event?

Coolio! My avatar's totally goofy - just like me! It made me smile when my sister sent it to me, so that's why I use it!

Well, I don't think swimming will bemy hardest event this year. I can still barely walk, so running is pretty much a no go at this point. I may be walking the run portion!!!

Training starts on Monday for my June tri and I'm very concerned!
