Kirstin:

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't been able to find that magazine around here. I've looked for it, but have yet to see it. Honest, knowing how Robert Kennedy does stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clean Eating Mag is a rehash of the stuff from Tosca's book.

thanks for dropping and hope to see you around more.

The grill is seasoned, I'll break it in tonight when I get home and start doing food prep. Went down to Frobergs and got a bunch of veggies. Need to make up a quick list of meat and a few other things I want to get and I should be good to go for the next week.

Well got home later than planned. So food prep will happen tomorrow night. Went to Frobergs this afternoon and picked up a bunch of veggies - INcluding eggplant and squash. I think I'm going to grill up the chicken I got ($1.77/lbs for white meat with Ribs!) Mix up the burger recipe from Perfect Body (turkey and red beans) and use some of the chicken to make the Dijon Chicken salad from Perfect body as well.

Tonight I took some of the fresh tomatos, cilantro, purple onion and Jalepeno peppers and mixed up a batch of fresh Salsa. They ought to be delish on the fresh eggs I got from Bob's Mom tonight!

WOOOO!

It's step by step and day by day that I make my way through the land of food plan.

And Paula I want to add my thanks for posting all this good food stuff. Your posts often give me great ideas in the kitchen. I still haven't made those pumkin pancakes yet though.....

Good Lord Karla!

What were you doing up so late????

Not that I should talk. I couldn't sleep last night - It was 1:30 before I fell asleep.

I prepped an Eye of Round last night with some garlic and a little pepper run and threw it into the crockpot with potatoes and an onion. It should be perfect when I get home this afternoon.

Went for a walk tonight and then had eye of round that had been cooked all day in a slow cooker with new potatoes and onions. Delish!

While I was waiting for bob to get here this evening, I whizzed up some fresh hummus in the food processor cup of my blender. 28 grams is 54 calories and it tastes delish! I can't wait to pair it up with some celery and green pepper strips tomorrow. It'll keep folks out of my office because of the garlic content tho! The good thing is I can freeze some of it for future use.

Finished the day on target caloriewise. My carbs were a bit high and my protein a bit low. but in terms of calories I'm right where I want to be.

And before anyone asks, here's the recipe

2 cans of chickpeas (a.k.a. garbanzo beans) drained, reserve half a cup of liquid

Juice of 4 lemons
4 cloves of garlic (if I had to do this over again I'd roast these to mellow the flavor a bit)
3 TBSP Tahini
4 TBSP Olive Oil.

Dump chickpeas into food processor bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Whirr until you have a nice smooth consistency (you may have to stop and move things around a bit in the bowl a couple of times). I think it took about 3 minutes to get a nice consistency.

WAY cool! I have been wondering how it is that people make humus. I had some the other day and did not quite know how to add it in. As I begin my cut, I am going to hang out here a lot and learn. It is the good clean eating log.

Oh yeah.... I stay up late a lot. I try hard to get that sleep in but don't always do it.

Interesting recipe - the one I typically use has kosher salt and tabasco too.

Hey Tracey...

I think I must be officially sick or something.

I stayed home tonight and cleaned the kitchen up (including handwashing dishes), and am busily prepping all my protein on my new grill

Although I did discover that I forgot red kidney beans at the store. Once the meat is done and the eggplant are on the grill, I might run to the store and pick a couple cans up.
