The saving grace to all this from Bob's point of view is that his dad has not changed during all of this... his mind is still sharp - he just surrendered his license to practice medicine this year at the tender age of 91 - and his personality has been intact the entire time.

Paula,
I'm so sorry to read about Bob's father. What a difficult time it's been for you, especially reading about your recent illness. Despite this, you've done great work getting back with the exercise--you're one tough cookie. Take care!

It is amazing when the mind still stays sharp like that. My grandmother, bless her soul, was as sharp at age 96 as she was ten years before that, cheating at cards. It really was a blessing.

Sorry to see what you and Bob have been through. I don't know if this helps but my time in coma was like a dream the whole time. No pain, no fear.

Greg: Thanks for that insight..... I hope it gives him some comfort to know.

I'm stopping by to let you know that Bob's dad is expected to pass in the next few hours. I just talked to Bob a bit ago and he told me. I'm on my way over there now. Talk to you all soon.

Bob's dad passed last night about 8:40. If I wouldn't have had to come in for driver's training this morning at work (it's been on the books for months) I would be there now. I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

thanks Jamie and everyone.

I'm feeling yesterday's lifting session in a major way. Everything from my traps to my glutes are nice and sore. I'm taking tomorrow off. I might lift Thurdays and then Saturday.

Everything is going okay here. No set funeral arrangements at this time. I'm just hanging out with Bob this evening and chilling. He's in working on his Dad's obituary.
I'm going to do some research here for a paper that is kicking around in my brain.

have a good evening everyone and thanks for all the thoughts.
