Nice workout!!! I am looking forward to doing the special workouts and was thinking of them last night, while I was doing some cardio.
You rocked it!

thanks ginny, it was fun! I remember being pretty wasted with the first workout, so no matter what the scale and measurements show, I have made some wonderful strength gains, and that is worth it to me!

8mph?! Dang, I must be a total wuss... 5.5 or 6.0 is the highest I can go... and I still turn purple every time! haha. Nice job with the workouts!

good morning!!
today was the special workout, where you go back to your weights from 6 weeks ago and do as many reps as possible

deadlifts 35 @65 lbs
dumbell shoulder press 30 @ 2 x15 lbs
lat pulldown 30 @ 65 lbs
lunges 45 with 8 lb db
swiss ball crunches 60 with 3 kg medicine ball.

I am amazed at my strength gains. tomorrow is measurements, and if I have maintained, I will be thrilled. time to get nutrition in gear (quantity that is, quality is 80-90 percent clean)

wow, so my mom had stints placed. 75 percen blockage of LAD and 80 percent blockage of circumflex, two major arteries to the heart. she was lucky she didn't have a heart attack. she is resting and doing well, but there are blockages in her carotid and one of the vessels going to the bowels that they are working up.

moral of the story--achieve and maintain a normal weight. diabetes plus hypertension plus hypercholesterolemia plus obesity is not a good thing.

Glad to hear of the timely intervention, though as you seem to indicate in your post, an overhaul is going to be necessary.

I hope your Mom is doing okay, nice work on the training. I am jealous of your strength gains, mine have been very minimal in the past 6 mos. keep it up!

Very nice, Wendy!!

I don't think my grip would hold out with 35 rep DL's! LOL!

Your gains are very impressive and I'm sure you are feeling terrific. What a great month!

thanks everyone! she is resting well now and will go home tomorrow.

hoping my gains are limited to the weight room. kind of scared to get on the scale and measure tomorrow, but I have a new source of scary inspiration now to get leaner, so whatever the numbers, I know I have the power to change them.

Wendy I'm scared too. I didn't weigh myself all month because I didn't want to obsess about every slight movement of the scale. But now I am worried I am going to be disappointed in myself and my progress.

Hopefully everything is good for us both tomorrow. I'm glad your mom is going home.
