FSU has a satelitte campus of their medical school here in daytona for 3rd and 4th year medical students--our building is on daytona state college campus. I am in charge of the psychiatry rotation for our campus, and I also teach a course on wednesdays called doctoring 3. yesterdays case was unintentional weight loss in the elderly and the lecture was on cancer screening. this course teaches the thought processes of physicians--I teach it with the dean and with the family medicine clerkship director, and then whoever our guest speaker. yesterday, it was a local oncologist. It's kind of like our own little hometown version of scrubs, lol.

Wendy, I don't know if you've seen some of my posts regarding my concern about my mother. She is down to about 80 lbs. She is so frail, it's heartbreaking. I'm trying everything I can to get her to eat more calories, but it's a real struggle. Anything words of wisdom you have for me would be wonderful. You got my email. Thanks.

How's the restrictive dieting going? Is it getting hard to keep your calories low? Or is your motivation keeping you on track? Have you had any loss of energy or downturn of mood? How are you sleeping?
I knew you were in FL, but I didn't realize you were in Daytona. It's such a small world! My husband travels to Daytona on business pretty regularly. If I get a chance to come down with him, I'll look you up!

What an awesome position. The doctoring class sounds interesting, with how it's structured around cases. As a parent, I'm happy about expanded higher ed opportunities in the area, yay!
Glad you are feeling good on your new food plan too!
