dexa 32.8
calipers 30.2
I think the dexa is accurate for me. I was not surprised at all by it. Debbie kruck is one of the safe bb. she doesn't use steroids and her methods of staying lean are normal and healthy. I think the trick is to not try to do dramatic changes. gradual changes are less dangerous to the body.

Well there is not much difference in your readings either. 2% is hardly a big delta and should not send you into any sort of different training routine or goals. In fact I agree with Leigh (I think it was her) that calipers in the hands of a skilled person are the most accurate way to measure. My trainer used calipers on me and it was within 1-2% of my bioimpedence. I have always figured my Ormon is off by this much. I use the 4 point one so it stays very stable for me day to day. In any case it is all within 2-3% so not a big deal either way. I could see it being a big deal if the percentages fluxed wildly from time to time or if your Dexa reading was >10% from your caliper readings though.
My new bbing trainer is also 100% natty and seems to use good common sense in his training too. Still he trains uses splits and does some isolation work so people on this board do not always agree with him. He consistently wins local natural shows and so do his clients so I have to think he knows what he is doing to some extent though. And yes I think the trick is to take it slowly. He and my current trainer are encouraging me to drop at .5 lb a week or so right now as I go into the lower weights. They believe no reason to do very low bf% goals in a short time if no show. So I am dropping very slowly now and it is fairly easy.

I think this kind of ties in with the discussion about overweight health professionals in the trainer subforum. Regardless of how good he looks, he's figured out what works for him - you're paying him to figure out what works for YOU.

interesting discussion karla and tom! karla, I am excited to see how this training goes compared to the last trainer. fun!
tom, I agree. that is what I love so much about PN, they have so much experience with so many different types of clients with different goals. they are helping me discover what works best for me.
I have finally started to track my compliance and post it, so that is a biggie for me. still seeing my super slow progress. same old story different post. love to eat. hate to restrict, blah blah blah....

fun workout today, mostly shoulders, some calf (like I need it, not) and 10 min of alternating sprints--did sprints at 8.5mph but really probably need to crank this higher to truly get higher end anaerobic work.

thanks marilyn, umm ginger!
body comp moving in the right direction. SSSLOWWWLY I might add. but I am ok with that.
in light of the discussion on the FLTS thread, I have decided to dexa myself weekly. expose myself to as much low dose radiation as possible, thereby inducing lypolysis directly from the fat cells without any effort on my part, lifting, culinary or otherwise. that's my story. I'm sticking to it. I own this challenge.

Are you still enjoying the program and diet parameters? Are most of the ladies in the PN group sticking with it, or have there been dropouts? When I read your log (and I am following along!) you always sound really upbeat. That's inspiring.

thanks jane!
lisa~, YES. love the daily lessons. DOUBLE LOVE the workouts. getting better and better with the nutrition. I am losing fat every week, not as much as I want, but then, I am going a bit heavy on the almond butter and real cheese occasionally. am going to toy with adding a bit more running back and less fat, a bit more whole grain carb and see what happens this week.
most of the women are doing great!! some better than others. the ones who are doing the best are dead on with their nutrition. the ones making minimal progress are starting from a place where regular working out is still a chore. and then people like me in the middle!

As always!
Great to hear that you're still loving it. I am pleased with the feedback for that program. I think it lasts long enough to really teach the clients how to live the lifestyle, and that's what I try to do for my clients. People won't keep doing things they don't enjoy or can't maintain long term. You're doing so great and I enjoy following your progress.

It does all come down to diet. I know it's come up in other logs but having a good workout is not a reason to 'have a little extra' that day. You sound like you're getting a lot out of the program though, and that in itself is wonderful.

thanks lisa~ so glad you pop in , I always appreciate your input.
hey anne! I am the queen of "a little extra because I train hard". it all comes down to aligning your behaviors with your goals. so far my little puttering results in slow but continued loss. I continue to make baby steps forward, so all good. I am so glad you are in the challenge--this is going to be fun!

Yes indeed, you do! I am thoroughly enjoying reading your log as you go through this. I love that you can get those done weekly.
