Indeed - sounds like a fine day. It also sounds like you've found your groove, also a fine thing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks all. I will find time tomorrow to start reading threads again. Have been having too much fun this week to read the board.

Today I am 45 and I feel better than I have ever felt in my life. I spent the day in CA with my team from work and in a few minutes am having a gentleman visitor. Have I ever said how much I love being single?

See ya tomorrow guys and thanks for all the well wishes. And Happy Birthday to Jessica too. I think she is a baby at 30 now!

I am 45 and I have abs!!! LOL!!

Okay so I have stretch marks too BUT I STILL HAVE ABS!!!!!!

It's so much fun to read your journal! Freedom on a bicycle! Being one with nature and at peace with yourself & eat/drink w/o thinking about macros.

You look wonderful!

Happy Birthday - you look great! Always humbling to see a 45 year old look so amazing. I have really enjoyed my bike rides lately, too. We have a lot of paved trails around here, but I believe Portland still beats Mpls. in number of miles for a metro area. And even though I have never been there, I am guessing it beats us in scenery, too!

Thank you one and all for your kind words. It was an amazing (memorable) day and night.

Today is stats day, then work out with trainer and then I will be home to catch up on mail and logs. I ended up eating more fat than normal due to eating out a lot this weekend. It is easier to eat "healthier" fat foods than carbs. I also clearly missed my goal of .5 lbs a week loss. I think I was doing well until the past few days. I was freaking out because I had 3 rest days and so decided to cut on those days to 1500 cals a day. Clearly I need to be in the 1800 a day average range or better if I am going to ride my bike so much. At least the bf% is moving again. I hope it isn't a fluke. Today was the first day.

Again thanks for the happy wishes.

I meant to spend some time on the boards yeseterday but got a call from a friend with computer problems. He said he would come to my farm so I could work on his computer for him. I told him to stop by the store on the way and pick up some rib-eye steak. OMG!! We had a great feast with the steak and lots of very fresh vegetables all on the grill. I think I ate about 1lb of meat. I did get his computer running again but did not get on the boards. I am planning tonight again some time as I really miss reading about everyone.

Yesterday I got two workouts in. The first was with the trainer and the second one I did on my own after work. I was working in our main office bldg and it has a gym so I just stopped in to do some lifting.

8/5/08

AM workout
Shoulders, pecs

cable underhand shoulder row
3x15 (2 plates)

Bench press
1x20 (45lb)
1x15 (65lb)
2x12 (85lb)
1x8 (90lb)

Incline db press
1x15 (35lb) e
1x12 (40lb) e
1x12 (35lb) e

1/4 push-ups
1x4 (bw)
2x3 (bw)

PM workout (30 min)

wide grip Pullups (27)
1x6
3x5
1x6

SuperSet
flat db bench press
1x15 (35lb) e
2x10 (45lb) e
db curls
3x15 (15lb) e

swiss ball crunches
3x15 (20lb)

Trainer said he was extremely happy with the fact that I am staying really strong and still losing. He is also amazed that I was able to up my calories to 1800 average per day recently. He says things are going really well as far as he can see.

Today I rode my bike to work. I am eating a LOT right now to feed all of this silliness.

Rib-Eye steak and grilled veggies...I think you just planned my dinner for tonight. That sounds delicious!

27 Pullups! That's incredible (and the rest of you workouts look great too!). Great job

Dude I am only 122 pounds. That is an amazing amount of calories for me to be eating at that weight and still losing.

I guess I meant more that you can still lift as heavy as you are and doing all the bike rides. I know for myself I can't get enough food when I am doing SS cardio for hours at a time.

Bike ride was Bitch'n yesterday evening. I forgot my HR monitor so just hit it. I averaged 15.1 mph over the course of the 26 miles. That includes all the stop lights and cruising down through the towns. I can maintain 18mph on the flat with ease which is pretty good for a beginner biker. I am loving this stuff.

Today's workout was quads with my dear trainer. I made him workout with me. He was hurting whereas I did a MASSIVE refeed yesterday (2350 cals with over 200g of carbs) to prepare for this and was just roaring. That said by the final set of squats my right quad started to fire rapidly on its own. My whole leg was quivering and shaking. It was weird. David said the quad was simply being worked too hard with the riding and now the lifting and that we were going to have to really watch the load we put on it during this season of biking and running.

Warmup
7:00 min on tready at 5% incline and 4.5mph
Front Squats with plate (25lb) 1x20

Squats
1x15 (95lb)
2x12 (135lb)

Step ups (each leg)
1x12 (30lb)
1x12 (40lb)
1x10 (50lb)

Plyo Squats
3x15 each leg (bw)

I ride again to work tomorrow so no rest for the quads but Sat will be rest day

Nice workout. I wish I could find a place to ride that fast. I am terrified of the roads around here and the parks are to crowded to really get any speed up.
