AND we pay the trainers no less LOL!

Kudos on the great workout! It is fabulous you have a trainer to gun you on like that--my arms are sore just from looking at what you did.

I also find weights enjoyable, despite the desire to scream, puke, etc etc...I think it is because I find long bouts of cardio so freakin' boring (unless it's a run outside with my dog!) that I am happy with the variety of the weight room--I almost think of it like a game. "Can I beat myself today?" I'll ask. I just haaaaaaaaaaatteeee the boredom of doing cardio on machines. Ew.

Oh Dilly that is priceless. Did you just make that?

That reminds me... I did wear my T-shirt into the gym. He was sitting on a swiss ball just waiting around. When I walked towards him, I saw him reading it and then I thought he was going to roll off the back of the swiss ball from laughing. He appreciated the shirt and mostly appreciates my attitude. The funniest thing about me wearing that shirt in front of him is that he is nearly a whole foot taller than me. (Picture a chihuahua standing off to a great dane) I think I should charge him for being so entertaining.

The workout was pretty tough and at one point I felt nausea but I feel okay today. My back (shoulder-blades) my hamstrings and my shoulders are all tender right now from the past 3 days of working out. It is a good time for a few rest days. I am not too sore to cope so I think I am working just about right.

Paula I wasn't clear enough when I wrote that. He was laughing when he said that because he was teasing me. Of course the progress belongs mostly to me. All I have to do is follow his plan. That is why he quickly turned it around and gave me my kudos. He is actually quite lavish with praise for me so I have no question where I stand.

I may take you up on the movie-making instruction, but so far, so good. Oh man... A little bit bummed here. I worked out really hard the past 3 days in anticipation of this business trip I had to make to San Jose. I am staying in a new(to me) hotel and did not know the facilties so I decided to make this a rest day. It turns out this hotel has the nicest free weight gym I have ever seen in a hotel. Several benches and racks of dumbells up to 50lbs and medicine balls and mats and a really cool cable machine (functional machine) Of course there are standard cardio machines each with thier own TV and a heated pool in the nice warm CA evening air. (Sigh...) My plight is unfortunately to work in my room for the night.

On the UP side of things I just ordered a 14 oz steak from the swanky restaraunt below. This along with the sides will bring my cals up to an almost perfect 2800 with macros at almost exactly 38,33,30 (protein, carbs, fat) It should be here soon. Looking forward to it. Generally I hate travel but sometimes it works out okay for me.

So tonight is PIG OUT and rest night. I am trying to enjoy this bulking thing while it lasts.

A high-quality 14oz steak in a nice hotel room. I can see why you're bummed.

The pool would be okay if you took it easy, right?

Lucky to be in San Jose!

While I'm not eating as many cals as you or going through such an intense bulking stage, I too enjoy the freedom, and even encouragement to eat a lot while on NROL4W. I just enjoy eating. I feel like I'd rather do these really hard workouts and eat a lot always rather than cut back on the workouts and the food. With that in mind, I'll probably move on to NROL after I'm done this program =D

I am hardly undergoing an intense bulking. I simply cannot eat enough to bulk in anyway but slowly. But that said, once I do this cut I am looking forward to the next round of bulk as I think I will put on muscle even faster then. (I'll have a lot of the secrets to eating down by then.)

The steak was AWESOME btw folks but highlight of my trip was on the way home on the shuttle back to my car in the long term parking lot I got in trouble for doing pull ups on the hand bar. (LOL!!)

Okay, now this is significant for 2 reasons. First I did 3 of them which is as many pulls as I ever did. They were not sissy chin ups either rather wide grip full on pulls. The guys across the aisle from me said, "Right on" to me after the bus driver told me to take a seat. I wanted to announce to him and everyone that I was 44 years old. Not too shabby and almost funny immature.

The other reason this is significant is because the last time I went to Sane Jose I had this guy with me and he lifted on occasion too. Anyway, we were talking about lifting and that sort of thing and he challenged me to do a pull up. I tried but could not do it. This time it was easy and I had my backpack on too.

Today is yet another rest day. My plans were to go to the gym but I am so tired from my trip that my eyes hurt. My elbow is also very swollen right now. I have been having issues with it since x-mas. So I am going to ice the puppy, take a hot shower and fall asleep so that my muscles can grow.

After all I am BULKING!!

All nice and good but where the hell is MY steak? Hmm? You have exactly 24 hours to produce a juicy, rare to medium-rare, big ol' honkin' steak to me or I'll... I'll... um... I'll think of something...

What? Squish me with your right ass cheek?

Girl that steak cost Intel 50 dollars. So next time you are all buying a PC with "Intel Inside" remember that part of that money you spend is going to my bulk. LOL!! It really was an awesome steak. Then the next night I stopped by this Thai place and ate 2 dinners 'cause I was starving you know. I think the waiter was shocked to see me eat so much. If you guys don't see weight gain on my next pics I will be sorely dissapointed.

Thanks... I love this new found strength and body of mine. There were several people who mentioned that I looked great on this trip including my admin who I had not ever met until this week. She gave me a hug and said, "Girl, you are fit as can be and solid too". I was just loving that.

Elbow is wrapped in ice right now and I am on IBuprofen too. It should be fine for tomorrow. I think it is back day tomorrow. No.. It is quad killer day. Yikes. Squat rack here I come!!!

I would be so giddy at this LOL! I don't know many 44 yo women who can do that much less 24 yo women. I think that is SO cool. And the progress from last year!

I was showing my new muscle that popped out of the side of my arm last week at my DD birthday party. I had mixed results from none to EEEWWWW. Luckily my other sis in laws gathered to flex too. Our husbands just looked in shock. I told them you love our muscles when you want us to haul brick and dig trenches LOL!

Yeah, it was only just a few months ago that I could not do even one pull up and now this. Life is good.

A fabulous training day in the Portland East Ballys. I love this gym 'cause they got the best equipment. Today was kill the quads day.

Warm Up:
Tready 5 min - 3.5% at 5.5 mph
Squats 1x20 (45lb)

Squats
1x10 (115lb)
1x10 (135lb)
1x5 (155lb)
1x10 (135lb)

Step ups: (Bench) numbers are for each leg
2x15 (bw)
1x15 (10lb)e
1x14 (20lb)e

calf raises
1x15 (90lb)
1x15 (180lb)
1x15 (205lb)

Super Set 1
V-ups
3x15

Bosu Ball crunch and reach
3x15

Super Set 2
BSS - numbers are for each leg
1x15 (bw)
1x15 (10lb)e
1x10 (20lb)e

Walking lungs
1x30 (bw)
1x30 (10lb)e
1x20 (20lb) e

Okay so this one really did hurt. I actually puked during the 1st super set. So now I can no longer work out at Ballys. I will have to find a gym with porno on the walls and puke buckets in strategic locations. Oddly my quads are not so bad right now. I can almost look ahead at tomorrow though and tell I will be grabbing walls to sit down.
