I am glad I don't drink anything when I read this journal. I'd be spitting stuff on the screen.

Today was light workout day
I did 20 minutes of hill sprints. This is SO KICK ASS.
3x15 hanging leg raises
2x15 v-ups
There are so many days that I give thanks for all of you on this board. Today is one of those days. I really did not have a ton of motivation to push myself. On the first hill sprint about 1/4 of the way up my shoulders ached. This is a leftover from last night's workout. In fact I woke myself up from pain last night in the shoulders. (Def ice next time) At that pain I wanted to quit but I kept going telling myself that it would go away. Then my quads started to fire at the 3/4 mark and again I talked myself into pushing upwards. I made the to the top of the hill and gasping for air I turned around walked down. At the bottom of the hill I turned around and burned back up. I did this 7 more times in the next 20 minutes. I swear the only thing that kept me going was the thought that when I finished I would log this in my journal and someday look back and be proud of how motivated I was. The walk back to the house felt good because I had completed the job I set out to do.
When I came in and looked in the mirror my body was actually pumped. I saw all kinds of muscles that I have not seen before. In my legs I saw new definition in my quads and my back and shoulders too are finally starting to grow up. I still have a roll of fat across my belly but I no longer look so out of whack with a big roll there and totally skinny everywhere else. I am starting to look strong.
I am doing exceptionally well with the diet. I no longer am an under-eater and am comfortable with eating large volumes of food every day. My macros are getting very fine tuned. I have added flax oil to my daily diet and am having no problems getting my 20% fat anymore. I have also added gainers to my diet so am also getting my 2400 kcals a day now. I have been able to maintain my weight over the past week and a half so things are trending well. I suspect that over time I will be able to wean off the gainers and go to all whole food. For now and for today I am exceptionally happy with the small progress I made and proud of the way my body is reacting to all of this.
It is so empowering to know that I can have the body I want. But like all great accomplishments in my life it cannot be done alone. Thanks to all of you who visit my log, answer all my qustions and who post your own journeys.

I completely agree with you on the roll of the log. ON some dark days during HELL, just the thought of logging the workout was enough to make me do it.
It is pretty cool to see how happy you are with the eating and comfortable eating enough. Your story has got to be inspirational to anyone who has been a chronic undereater!

Karen, I've learned along the way that I could never do this alone. Sometimes just hearing a "wow! You look ... healthy!" from a friend can make me power through my next workout. Other times, like now, I've needed a shoulder to cry on. Surrounding myself with people who share my values wrt health and fitness has reshaped my entire life.
I'm very new here, but I can tell that this is a place where good folks gather to support each other, learn new things, and offer the occasional vent or victory.

You're doing so GREAT!
I agree on the logging -- there are days when motivation and energy are way down there but just the thought of having to post a public wuss-out is enough to kick my butt into gear.

Another trainer day. Today was back and some more arm stuff.
warm up 1.0 miles 2% incline 5.7 mph
I don't know the names of many of the things we did today so you'll just have to try to picture them.
Super Set 1
wide grip lat pull downs
1x15x100lbs
1x12x120lbs
1x10x130lbs
db incline prone flye (pull arms up as high and wide as possible)
1x15x7.5lbs
1x12x12lbs
1x10x15lbs
1x12x15lbs
Shoulder rotator exercises. We used the cable machine for this and I had to pin my elbow to the side of me and just pull the weight across my body and let it back out. I did this on both side with both arms.
Prone pull ups. Feet on pegs and laying under bar and pull up to chest
3x15
Then we switched up and did some bicep specific stuff
Super Set 2
Cable curls with bar
1x15x30
1x12x40
1x10x50
Wide curls db
1x15x12.5
1x10x15
1x10x15
for some reason I am a bit fuzzy on the numbers so I hope I have it right. We discussed a lot at this session as I am learning a lot and going through a lot of changes. I could point to new muscles in my quads today and he named them from me and then when we were doing bicep work I got major veiny again and made a "ewwwww" comment. He laughed at me as well as did the other people in the gym. Vascular sounds so macho.

today's workout in the gym compliment of trainer. Today was another quad day and the end result was me hardly making it back to the locker room. When I got there and got to my locker one of the ladies in there asks if I hurt myself. I guess the pain was pretty obvious... LOL! I couldn't help it. My legs were shaky and it felt like they were not mine. It was a weird feeling.... Not bad but weird.
After my shower and in the sauna I look down and my quads are covered in veins. Ewww... Also there are muscles that I did not know I had down there. It was cool and weird all at the same time. I wonder if this is really me sometimes.
workout
warmup - jog 10 min 2% at 5.0 or so. .7 miles
walking lunges - 3x30 steps bw
Squats
warmup - 1x20 (45lbs)
1x15 (65lbs)
1x12 (85lbs)
1x10 (90lbs)
1x5 (115lbs)
Weighted lunges static
1x15 (50lbs)
1x15 (50lbs)
walking lunges 2x10 (60lbs)
1 leg squat
3x10 each leg
There were some idiots doing curls in the squat rack today. I had to boot them so I could do squats. Unbelievable.....

Holy hell, after squats lunges and 1-leg squats in the same workout, my legs wouldn't feel like my own either.

Great workout. Fantastic job on the squats. Do you use crutches after that workout?

You know I practically did. I am going to go ask WTF to my trainer RE this one. That sucked. He often really digs in on one area but this one was overboard IMHO. Of course the results are not arguable and this morning I feel fine.
