tough stuff, jane, and you are channeling it so well into productive things.
like ziploc steam bags, which I also love. frozen shrimp are great in there. you can mix with frozen scallops and seasoning and yummmm.

So sorry to hear about your mom Jane. No doubt the workouts will help you relieve stress...maybe some boxing? And congrats on the low!

Sorry to hear about your mom... it sounds very much like my grandmother at the moment. She's not been diagnosed with alzheimers... but everyday we start thinking it's more and more of a possibility. She has days when she's fine, but the next it's like her mind has gone completely out the window. It is so incredibly sad to see, especially when your memories are of such a vibrant and energetic lady. Wishing all the best for you and her!

That sucks about your Mom. I know how hard it is to be a caretaker in a situation like that. I've been through it a couple of times.
Awesome deal on the swimsuit. And Julie is right, most that you would wear for swimming aren't a day at the beach

After my workout, I had swimming class. I swallowed quite a bit of water today, so not feeling as pumped as last week! I'm having a hard time figuring out the breathing thing. I love my teacher and this is the only adult class there is, but she said she will work with us as long as we want with each new swim session at our own level, so it looks like I will be taking classes for a while. I was worried that the "Adult Beginner" class just ended and there was no other class to advance to.

Sorry about the water swallowing. You'll get it eventually. The fact that you are facing your fear and willing to learn is absolutely amazing!!

Hey, are you watching True Blood? I saw the first episode and still need to watch last night's, but I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the heads up.

Okay, I have two episodes on my hard drive that I haven't watched yet. So maybe this weekend I'll look into them.

Hell, I'm a great swimmer and was a lifeguard for awhile, and I still have days where I choke down a bunch of water or get flipped over, get water up nose, whatever. It happens, so don't think of it as rookie mistakes - it happens to the best of us!
Nice workout, btw!

Ditto!!!
And Jane, something to think about ... if your mom has had a rather rapid decline, I would bring her to the doctor. Sometimes it is something as easy as a UTI that can cause such a decline ... better to find out and get her treatment if needed. Plus if you can get homecare services involved, you (family caregivers) can usually get some respite help in the form of home health aides.
PM me with more specifics if you want/need ...

<---new low on scale
Well, the last 24 hours have been challenging. After work yesterday I went and had my fitness assessment done by the trainer at my gym. It went really well. I scored excellent on everything except balance and grip (which I predicted when he told me about the balance and grip testing). So, something to work on. The best part was that I blew him away on the flexibility test, so my daily stretching must really be paying off. My BF% was right where I thought it would be (7-site) and everything else looked good, too. Glad I did it.
Sooo...then I get home and have to logon for work to verify a project of mine. Ended up working until 2AM, overslept, made it into work 2 hours late and I am TIRED! To top it off, found out yesterday that the website problems I was having with my biz are MAJOR. The whole server crashed, data lost, just a disaster. So, I will be ultra busy the next few weeks trying to recover all of that and rebuild it, rehost it, get the dedicated IP , SSL, etc, etc. Tons of missed emails, orders, customers. I already have a headache thinking about it.
Supposed to work out tonight, but I just don't know if I have the energy physically or mentally to do so.
