This is 100% my mother... she's so funny, she won't be seen in public without make-up! Even does her hair and make-up before going to the gym

Love you Jane, but I'm on the other end of the spectrum (although my baby could be your child). We were looking through some old photos, and she came upon one where she was 3 -- we were out on a touristy jaunt and I was carrying a Gucci purse and she say "Oh, mom you DID USED TO KNOW how to dress." I couldn't do anything but laugh. However, she has brought me to the dark side of must have good-looking jeans (and I look good in them).

Well, I don't go that far!! LOL! But, when I go after work, I don't make it a point to take it all off, either. I just whip my hair up on top of my head and go. The gym is the one place I don't care.

LOL!! It's a curse sometime, but you know....it's just who I am, so I am comfortable. I envy people at the other end of the spectrum sometimes, though! I once said that if I could move away where I knew nobody, I wonder if I could turn myself into a no-maintenance person. But, the answer is always no!

I have NO DOUBT you are rocking those jeans! No doubt at all! Nothing worse than seeing someone in high-waisted "mom" jeans with a killer body. No way!

August 18, 2008
Coach Dos' Power Training - Total Fitness Routine
Workout A of Phase 3 (ie weeks 7-9)
Workout 3 of 10

DB Snatch alternated with Jump Squats
5x25
5xbw jump squats
5x25
5xbw jump squats

Lunges and BSS's
8x15's Lunges
8x10's BSS
8x10's Lunges

Good Mornings
8x65
8x65
4x65
8x45
*I went back down to 45 for the last set because I didn't think I was getting full ROM at the higher weight. Not sure I really like these....may go back to RDL's for this option.

DB Flat Bench Press
8x22.5's
8x25's
8x22.5's
*I think all the push-ups are really helping me here!

Seated Cable Row
8x75
8x81
8x75
*Subbed for Standing Cable Row to Neck because all the cable machines were in use

O/H Press
8x17.5's
8x20's
8x17.5's
*The PR is the most reps at that weight. I can't believe I am FINALLY seeing progress with my shoulders.

Assisted chin-ups
8x58 lbs assist
4x64 lbs assist
5x70 lbs assist
5x76 lbs assist
*These were all VERY hard! I may go back to the Lat pulldowns here. I was subbing for chin-ups, but I'm not doing too well, here!

Seated Russian Twist
4x10x10 lbs seated russian twist8x20

Planks
80 secs - static plank
30 secs - side plank
30 secs - side plank

Ended w/ 4 rounds of intervals

Well, not too bad of a workout, considering I am again running on about 3.5 hours of sleep since I got called back into work AGAIN last night (this is the 6th night of this in the last 10 days). I dropped to 3 sets on some of these because I was just feeling myself starting to fade. To make matters worse, I have to go BACK in tonight at 11PM, work for probably 4 hours, come home, get sleep, and be back at 7:30AM. I am fried. I can't believe I've been able to keep my eating on track and piece together some semblance of a workout routine. I am hoping that this is the last night.

I'm copying this workout ... and breaking down and buying this book. I couldn't face the gym today JUST COULDN'T, so I did a workout part in the backyard (86 degrees) and part in the house. Loved my workout (climbed up on a carport to do negative chins and gave an interesting view to the neighbor sitting on his porch). Have you thought about doing negatives for the assisted chins?

This combination you put together looks VERRRRY interesting. Jump squats, lunges, BSSs, and Good Mornings -- what was this jello legs day You did awesome doing this sleep-deprived. I hope these people are feeding you (I tease here because I've been there with the work hours too).

And I am so with you on the Mom jeans. They make me cringe faster than a lot of "strange" things you see in public.

P.S. Can you tell I don't feel like cooking (chatty today)

I think you will love Power Training because it's so versatile--- so many exercises to choose from! Normallly, I stick to 4 sets of the same exercise (like 4 sets of lunges, for example for my knee-dominant bi-lateral exercise), but there are so many choices within that category that sometimes I like to alternate the 4 sets with 2 different choices. It's really a nice set-up, I think. I like customizing.

Food....well, what I've been doing is taking in enough food for 8 hours since I never know how long I'll be there. So far, that's working for me. If I counted on them for food, I'd get pizza and the vending machines!

Pop in when you get Power Training and let me know which moves you choose for your program.

Jane, does the Power Training book explain all of the "reasons" (for lack of a better word) for the different exercises? "Reasons" being giving better balance and such rather than just better strength or better muscles? From your descriptions, it looks like it definitely tells you which muscles you're working, which is great, but I'd love to have a better understanding of the whys.

You're doing very well on so little sleep and so many work hours. Hopefully, you'll get back to a less hectic schedule soon.

Ha!! And I guess because I was always a jock, I NEVER wear/wore makeup ... I don't see the point!! Although I will concede that occasionally now I will wear mascara and chap stick ...

Lots of red ink there.

You seem to be inspiring a group of followers. It's kind of like Moses or at least Forrest Gump!

I know I bought Power Training on Jane's opinion of it. Haven't had need for it since I've got a trainer, but it's another tool for the toolbox in case I want to try something different.

Jane, don't give up on the chin-ups. I saw great improvement even after only a few days when I did them with my trainer.

Your workouts look awesome. Nice RED! I can't wait to check out Power Training. (the mail lady thinks I'm stalking her )

I can relate to this feeling. I almost never leave home without makeup. The exception was when I used to work out at 5:00 a.m., but now since I work at the gym and workout either between or after clients, I at least start with my makeup on. But I also envy those who have no qualms about facing the world makeup free. I have done it but it doesn't feel right.
