So, what does a diet have to do with being injured?

Nothing directly, its just my impression that low carb diets generally seem to be predicated on a reasonable volume of excercise for the duration of the diet.
I guess my question is, is that predication because of some fundamental physiological response which means the diet is contra-indicated if you can't exercise, or is it simply the common sense principle that there is little point in following a diet if it is not accompanied by exercise?
