Thanks Joyce!

I've been noticing my dietary habits have changed quite a bit in the last couple years, as have my energy levels directly related therein. I must admit though, actual cooking has been limited because by the time I get everything weighed out, I'm really only interested in eating things in their most basic form, ie steamed or raw veggies and fruit with a little vinegar or yogurt dressing, plain whole grain bread or granola, broiled proteins with little seasoning or sauces, and fats in the form of nuts and avacado--light on cheese (my ABSOLUTE favorite food beside oatmeal raisin cookies) I know the food doesn't have to be boring, but it's odd how my taste buds have changed too. When I stopped eating eggs (allergic) it seemed I felt much better by having regular meal type foods in the morning, and became the very person I thought so odd just a short time ago. Payback for all that criticism I guess!

list of changes

1. Got on thyroid--HALLELEUIA!
2. For the most part got off daily allergy medicine, steroids, and bronchodialators
3. Cut down on anti inflammatories except in acute situations
4. Added a substantial amount more protein---at every meal--this really made a difference
5. Added calcium/mag supplements 2xs daily (this eliminated leg cramping and twitches at night all together
6. Got on daily fish oil and realized the importance of EFAs! Another HALLELEUIA! FAR less overall bodyaches as a result.
7. Got on supplements for those things I tested severely deficient in. Vit D3, Chromium, B6, and a balanced amino acid mix. This has also made a substantial difference in my energy levels and attitude.
8. Started eating breakfast regularly.
9. The heavy late night carb cravings have dimished substantially, and for the most part I've stopped eating late at night.
10. Noticed normal portion sizes actually filled me up. Began eating less volume. In other words, hormones must have started functioning better!
11. Started to enjoy walking as an activity, not as a transportation device
12. All but eliminated wine and spirits, and have recently eliminated alcohol altogether. This has already affected my blood pressure positively, though I really miss beer!
13. Stopped drinking my 2 daily 20oz triple vanilla lattes, exchanged them for 1 regular coffee at home with cream and sugar...eliminated the cream and sugar, and now down to drinking 1 8 oz cup of black decaf. WOW!! I NEVER in a million years thought I could change that!!!
14. Eating far less red meat, more fish, and added sardines. Love those little fish! Great quick protein!
15. Sadly eliminated peanut butter, but exchanged it for almond butter which I just adore. This also made a big difference in lessening my allergic symptoms.
16. started weighing my food, and have developed a good balanced pre-measured food library that makes it easy to figure out what proportions and calories I need to take in to stay on track.
17. Discovered Leigh's FLTS, and did the MRD with GREAT success.
18. Learned my metabolism is functioning much better.
19. Started waking up refreshed, and able to get out of bed.
20. Have been able to eliminate the need for a nap during the day, and going to bed at 7:00 pm. This is incredible in itself.
21. Began decluttering my house.
22. began media ban..stopped listening to the news, talk radio, reading the papers, or having Google News be my home page.
23. Started to enjoy the quiet again....stopped having the radio and tv on all the time.
24. Took those long overdue books back to the University, and got a new card to the city library, which I have been enjoying.
25. Started measuring my food...not all the time, but enough of the time to make a difference. As a result of this, for the first time ever in my whole life, I worried about how I could possibly eat all the calories I was supposed to.
26. Lost 28 lbs
27. Joined some new social groups, both virtual and on the internet.
28. Began confronting some demons......
29. Got a temporay housemate that I enjoy.
30. Stopped trying to keep up with the Equestrian Jones crowd
31. Finally started dating again.

Who knew?
