I'm currently going through a new phase in my "fitness life" where I don't worry (or at least try not to worry) about everything being perfect.

Early on, I made a lot of progress, having changed from bad to good habits. Then, I stalled and tried going from good to "perfect" habits. However, some things got better, some stayed the same. Now, I've got to take a look at where to concentrate my efforts...

For instance, the move from just PWO drinks to pre, during, and post workout drinks seems to have really helped with my recovery and intensity. At the same time, I switched all my drink formulations. Odds are, it's the timing that's more important than my blend of malto and dextrose.

Dextrose does seem to be cheaper, although it tastes a lot sweeter, too. That might help more with my decision than anything.
LD, I think *most* go thru that sort of transition. The trick is getting through it like you did. IMHO this is required for real longterm success.

I used to worry so much about having the right ratios in my protein shakes, meal timing, when I lift that it almost was like another job. Tracking my results over that time showed me that the extra worrying resulted in very little in the way of extra results.

In fact my best results come from when I am having fun and not stressing it. Funny isnt it?
