Unfortunately, I think that may be his personality coming coming out more that the UFC taking a particular marketing route with him. As he said at the post-event press conference, he hates to lose and was pretty emotionally invested in this fight. His fight with Herring, on the other hand, was a little more of the "showmanship". Not to mention, it's pretty hard to keep a gigantic former professional wrestler to slip onto the role of the "silent type."
Agree with you on enjoying the Fitch fight to end the night.
