Exercise/Activity
No formal workout today. Ok... so I did do 2x20 KB swings with my 26-lb. kettlebell, and a few divebomber pushups (maybe 10? But they weren't w/good form).
Played fetch with my cat for 5 minutes. That should count toward something.
Whenever I take a break from workouts, I work on moves that have left me perplexed for the longest, or stuff that is very new to me. So today, I decided to tackle divebomber pushups. I discovered that I actually enjoy them, even though they are very challenging. I definitely feel that more of my body is engaged, especially the abs and the lower back, when I'm doing these. But my form still needs plenty of work.
Eats
M1: 4 small protein pancakes w/maple syrup; 2 egg cups; 2 slices ham; 1 tbsp hummus; coffee
M2: South Beach peanut butter protein bar
M3: 1/2 cup spaghetti; 1/2 chicken breast; 1 cup mixed veggies; 2 tbsp peanut sauce
M4: 1 cup frozen blueberries; 1 scoop protein powder; 1 cup almond milk
M5: 1/4 cup soy crumbles; 1 cup spaghetti squash; 1/2 cup lentils w/brown rice; 1 small wedge Laughing Cow cheese
M6: Probably some cherry kefir
I didn't feel hungry, and especially during lunchtime, which is usually when I'm at my most ravenous. Needless to say, I think I was preoccupied with other things, and couldn't finish my lunch.
What I
really wanted to have today was a New York-style pizza, and you'd think that since I'm currently in the land of former New Yorkers, I could easily find a pizzeria that dishes it up. No such luck, though, at least where I'm at.
Dinner was abysmal. I experimented with veggie soy crumbles, and tried eating them with my spaghetti squash. Ugh, those things are ghastly. I seasoned them with oregano and it wasn't enough to cover their ickiness. I think I'll have to decimate these crumbles in a Mexican-style manner - lots of jalapenos and salsa.
