I would say that eating low on a training day isn't the best choice though. Those are the days when you should probably eat the most. When those days come up, it's a good time to have a pre and post workout drink. Considering keeping a dry shaker bottle or two full of protein powder and powdered milk in your gymbag, just in case.

Just like you my days differ from each other, with some lows and very highs! I've been pretty good at getting either a pre-workout or post-workout meal/snack. I have to be careful about what I consume since I have very little tolerance for lactose, so I tend to go for lactose free protein drinks. Do you think getting something in before and after is better than one of the two?
I have also modified my diet- my protein intake now is almost double what it used to be (about 100g-compared to 50g).
