Good thing we didn't plan anything this weekend. There wasn't any pre-planning or communication as far as where we were expected and when, so our free time was pretty broken up and we didn't really venture out of Queens. We did have a great time though, pics are on facebook, and hopefully will be on my log later, though I have to actually get some work done today!
So have a good time at camp, dear!

I never went to a private day camp because my parent's couldn't afford it, but if they could have I surely would have gone. I went to a town rec camp, and it was still a wonderful experience.
Well...our camp is a bit different, to me, and to lots of our parents. I think for some parents summer camp is extended school or daycare, it's something for their children to do during the day while they're at work. But it's really so much more.
At our camp we believe that each child should have "a great place to be me" somewhere to grow and become more confident. Somewhere they're not afraid to be themselves. One of our directors was a child psychologist, and the other a nursery school teacher. They bring a unique way of thinking to the camp, and because of that, I feel it gives each child a unique experience...
At camp they make friends outside of their normal school group...we have children from the burbs and kids from the city so it's a nice mix of different friends for them! It's a place for fun and exploration without the stress of grades and deadlines. It gives them a chance to try out different things that they may not otherwise have a chance to at school.
I love it...sometimes I wish I were a child again so I could go...
