yupp, ive had the wire/cord problem before too. i found that there are a few things that tend to cause that:
- when the headphones are plugged in make sure not to wrap the cord around the ipod or your arm or anything where it would create tension/a bend right above the phone jack where the wire starts.
-try not to wrap the headphones in a circle and putting them in a bag or pockets or anything either, that usually creates unnecessary wear and tear on the wire. you can get a cheap pair of headphones(ive learned now haha) for 2-3$ that come with the case that wraps them inside. that should be a worthy investment for prolonging head phone life.

as for my own problem, thanks for the input guys. ill check out the ones recommended to use with my electronic drums probably, but for working out, it looks like low priced headphones are my best option.
