2 workouts a week?

Bear with me on this, since I haven't been able to pry the NROL book out of my hubby's hands. That is a GOOD thing! We started working out together last week, I am doing NROLFW. He mentioned to me this morning that he's only supposed to work out twice a week in the break-in phase. He's a beginner but not a "complete" beginner, he's been lifting without an actual program for about 6 months and has lifted off & on his whole life.
Now, like I said, I haven't been able to get the book for long enough to read it but would it be a BAD thing if he worked out all three days like I am? I don't think he's interested in HIIT at all.
