Unhappy I need helpful advice

I've been out of shape for at least half my l
ife. I started a work out routine cardio only it's 45 minutes with running in it as long as I can I'm 36 and 277 lbs I'm working on my diet with healthier eating and smaller portions is there anything else I should do or am I on the right track.
