This reminds me of a question I've had: why dump the gloves? I have been wondering about getting some, to protect my palms from callouses. Not a good idea? How come? I have never used them, by the way.
My advice: Start slow and perfect form on everything you do before trying to add a bunch of weight. Learn from the others on this site; there are many good threads of information. And, the nutrition really matters. I had never really watched my diet (ratios), and I could never get rid of the extra fat layer, even with lifting, and even though I wasn't overweight. I have been tracking on this program, and I can already tell a difference!
Don't give up, it works!
