Strictly speaking dairy is NOT considered Primal. There are a few people who will have low amounts of heavy cream in coffee, or maaaaaaybe some hard cheese. Yogurt would generally be a big "NO", but you might get a little leeway if you're using full-fat, totally unsweetened stuff. No artificial sweeteners. Brown Cow makes a good one with cream on top.

To get the FAT LOSS, they definitely recommend less than 100g daily of carbs (and that counts fiber, too!), and keeping FAT intake really really high to make sure you're not turning your protein into carbs (which some people can do very efficiently - its why I could never go keto when trying Atkins - I was eating too much protein).

I am actually in a "discussion/argument" with them on the Primal forums because they want to believe the Gary Taubes & Atkins fluffery about how you could eat 5000kcal daily of pure fat with a little protein and not gain weight because you can't produce enough insulin to store fat. I called BS and they are not happy.

Short answer, no to yogurt.
