Did you go to a local wine store that has someone who could guide you to find something that you like? How about food pairings? A filet plus a big zin is about the closest you can get to heaven on earth
It helps to have someone who knows about wine walk you through finding what you like. I'm fortunate to have a couple friends who are really into wine and they have helped me a lot.
Also, I'm not sure I'd call
Budlight a 'good' beer
