Default knee pain - fat loss 1

Just wondering if anyone else found break in and fat loss 1 rough on the knees.

Last night i was doing the bulgarian split squat (managed to do them without losing my balance). I stopped after my second set was complete because my right knee was hurting. On top of the right knee on the inside. I don't think anything is strained as today is the next day and i can walk no problem.

Any good tips on how to protect - warmup knees?
