I try to target a macronutrient ratio of 40% carbs, 30%-40% protein and 20-30% fat regardless of whether I'm lifting or not. On non-lifting days I eat a lower number of calories, whether I'm doing cardio or not (which I usually do). If I need help getting to my target protein level for the day, I'll have a shake.
