ok cant quite get a squat rack right away, my husband is going to storage to get his bar and some weights

in addition to using my 10lb and 12lb dumbells I can start off with using his bar and weights if I need them. He claims the bar is 30lbs. is that too much to start (at least use for the squats)? I think in bodypump I have used 2 5lb and 2 2.5lbs on each side (bar for body pump cant weight much), but usually have 2 5bs and 1 2.5lbs on each side. Im sure to start, I should be able to work with what I have. Plus book gives different exercised depending on what you have and if your working at the gym or home.
